Alcinus of Chell is a Non-player character I needed for the background on a port in my Dungeons and Dragons game, Alcinus is a real name (pronounced Al-Sin-us), and Chell is a city in my fictional world.
I used it as my username because the register screen said not to use my normal aliases, and it was the first thing to pop into my head.

Well, at first I too was not sure what to pick for my name. And as I was thinking I looked to the side and caught my reflection in my glass bookcase. And I saw my eyes. Well, many people over the years have complimented my eyes, saying they are very blue and big and nice. And I also loved to look into other people's eyes and even the eyes of animals, because they all are a window to the soul. And my eyes are very open and always curious, always have been. And when I joined here I just wanted them open more and see more about the reflection I was looking at that was not a very happy person at that time.

So thats what presented my name to be Open Eyes

There may have been another thread about this, but I don't think there was when I came here.
But even if there was one, I love the names in PC, I like them better than just the average names outside PC. And I love hearing how different members pick their names, because it usually is some kind of clue about them.

Hey Hey Kristi.

My user name is taken from a book from Japan...Sanada is a woman's name. A woman who is in control of her destiny (I am a guy btw, but I have a female soul).
Sanada is a female whom I can identify with; in the book I took it from (also I am 'hot' for all things Japanese. I am also 'hot for a lot of influences)...

Sanada is my inner persona, she haunts me all the time; and I am glad for that.

Cool post Kristi.

Venus as the planet... or the Goddess. And Halley for the astronomer. It is something I coined when i was 14.... and it somehow stuck. It is almost like my unofficial name and many of my RL friends call me Venus.

It's the German word for "night," and also the title of a Richard Strauss song I love. Most of my online handles have something to do with music.

ill go first my name is kristi, so ya know, theres that. but im also pretty crazy. and i like to be different so i misspelled crazy as much as possible to make it as different as possible.

ive had it for a few years and i still like it.

soo what about yours??

Mine is nothing more than a nickname which was given to me by a friend some time ago. Being too unoriginal (and too lazy, I might add) to come up with a handle of my own, I used this one instead.

Both "Michael" and "Michael D" were taken. I happened to have just watched that Oliver Stone film about Alexander the Great ... great man, not so great a film ... and I thought tagging "the Great" at the end would be just dandy and an accurate reflection of my awesomeness (and narcissistic tendencies).

The bayut (gay) population in the Philippines love to invert words; during my visit there recently, I found this to be one of the more charming features of the Cebuano language landscape. For example, lakaw-lakaw, or walking about, becomes wakal-wakal. Gulas is another such inversion which I especially like as it reminds me of "ghoulash".

My name "greylove" is self-explanatory. I've been a member of a greyhound site for years. Every grey-related name was already taken until I came up with "greylove." Perfect. Honestly, I forget that it isn't my real name.

Feiticeira means witch, it's very similar to my actual name, Felicia (happiness). I found the name amusing for some reason, so it stuck.

I took the idea for me name from my best friend of 5 years, Katt.
Katt's favorite username is lovemittens (Mittens is one of her nicknames). I took that idea, but added my own nickname.
A few months ago, Katt moved and I haven't seen or talked to her since. Using the user name LovesShelly kind of reminds me of her.

I went with despondent daisy, because more times than not, I feel that way. Even now on medication, I still get down on myself or feel despondent about the future in general. As for Daisy, well, I was trying to find a cute name that went with Despondent.

Kam$$! is my log in name for my currently lvl 94 wizard. (He kicks butt.) I came up with the name when I was little (no clue why the cash signs and exclamation mark) and my name is Kameron. Just stuck with it.

SilverSilence77 is a variation of a name given to me when I was RPing some years back. We never got very far into it, drama from some of the others who were playing.

Anyways, the name given to me then was Silent Breeze explaining my character style that just so happens to be kind of what i am like normally. I prefer to remain quiet in most social situations.

I came up with the variation recently because I prefered Silver Silence
Silver being one of the colors I like and Silence because of my quiet nature. For the number 77 that is the year that I was born 1977.
