The world is still full of nice people...

This thread will be dedicated to these nice people...

We will talk about the nice things that people have done for us, and/or about the nice things we have done for other people...
Thanks for this!

So one of my moms friend was having this small get together, and her friend has a daughter, who was two years younger than me, but thats alright...

Anyways she (the daughter) had this friend, who was three years older than me.

He was sooo nice!

He offered me a seat on the bench, opened my bottle of juice for me...

And we went for a little walk outside, and I was freezing, and he offered me his coat...Awww!

And we walked him home, and he even gave me a hug good-nite...

Awww...

Back in 2007 when I was really sick (getting sober and mental illness) my friend AL did all sorts of nice things for me. She drove me to and from rehab. When I was in the psych hospital, she'd pick me up when I had a weekend pass, and take me out to her house, where I'd just sit in the sun in the backyard. She's been my closest friend for years and stuck with me through everything.

Currently, a professor from an old class and unrelated to a current one, offered in her free time to help me with a class I am having trouble with. I have tried to pay her as a tutor and she will not accept it. I am doing so much better in this class now and can't thank her enough.

Support me
Encourage me

The best I can try to do is...............

I am supportive of people in my life
I encourage people in my life
I have been for the people in my life
I accept people in my life.

When I fled an abusive marriage, I had to leave with my kids and nothing else. People in my new community helped me get furniture, clothing, toys for the kids, cutlery, you name it.

I was then and still am in deep gratitude for the outpouring of support for perfect strangers. If only I could tell them what a steeping stone it was, everything they did went towards where we are today.

People do nice things, but as Sabrina also points out, here at PC they have definitely been nicer to me in these trying times than even those in the real world.

*** Thank you everyone here who has been so supportive. ***
**** I really appreciate it! ****

To be honest anyone who has had there ears open for me has done a nice thing, keeping ones emotions inside really does hurt a person and having the select few who listen really made a difference.

When I broke my foot and I was getting out of the car to acting classes (we had those electric doors that slide open and always mess up) I was collecting my crutches and stuff, with my foot still in the door and didn't notice it had malfunctioned and was closing and right as I noticed it was about to run into my foot, a girl nearby saw and grabbed the door and helped me out without getting more hurt. So sweet.

One of my neighbors and I are always helping each other out...my with stuff and he with physical work. My riding mower has been defunk for nearly 2 months. He mowed my yard and when I tried to give him money, he refused it...as he rode off I stuffed it into his shirt pocket.

Well... he then suspected my mower trouble was the solenoid so I ordered a new one... and he's going to put it in gratis... and he mowed my yard once again. He won't take any more money because I gave him the other, and he says that's what neighbors do (I try to tell him I pay strangers I don't even know, why not someone who is nice and lives across the street and works for a living?!) He's and his wife are both nice.
