Well...I've been extremely down lately and my system is in hiding. Over the last week I have fought off many thoughts of ending my life, and many thoughts about SI. I'm feeling kind of proud of myself tonight though and I just wanted to share how good I feel right now.
Tonight, I went to my Over-eaters Anonymous meeting...which I stopped going to over a month ago; so I give myself brownie points for that. ![]() ![]() Then, I came home and I went and did a mild workout in the gym room at my apt complex, then took a 15 minute walk....came home, showered, brushed my teeth, and am considering what I want to eat for dinner. ![]() So, tonight, I won the battle of being healthy and taking care of myself!! It's not an easy thing for me to do. A lot of times I have difficulty finding the energy, physical and mental, to take care of myself and do everyday things like bathing and brushing teeth. Now that I'm sitting here reading PC, I have my windows open and there's a nice breeze...I really feel kind of good. I know it won't last; it never does, but I'm going to try and live in the moment and let myself enjoy this feeling before it does pass me by. That is, if I can convince myself that I have a right to feel good. That always seems to be my biggest challenge. I invite others to share ways that they won their own battles today. Let's celebrate the little things we do for ourselves that help keep us going!! ![]()

Congratulations! That is wonderful news, it makes me feel good knowing that it can be done. I have been trying myself to practice living in the moment it really does help! The thing you said about deserving good to happen is one of my all time hang ups! We DO deserve it! keep up the good work.

I go through those moments too. I hit the lowest of lows and start to think I can't get myself out and suddenly I have this rush of energy and new outlook that lifts me up. The good days are what keeps me going and just like you, I realize they won't last and I will end up feeling depressed or over emotional about something. The trick is to try and avoid the triggers and try to implement the things that make you feel happy, more into your life. It doesn't completely get rid of the bad moments, but it at least lessens them.
