i've been looking up careless driving and it looks the max is 1000 and times in jail. Colorado i'm not sure the time. But this utterly scares me. So here's the story. I have been drivin for the last 7 months i took 3 years off on my own due to car broke and i was gettin too many speeding tickets back then. This 7 months i've been good until fog and night. I was doing 10 under the speed limit and the stop sign came and i went throu a double arrow sign in a field. I'm thankful really for no one else around. I'm told the car is insured just need to get the paper work. I don't care if i lose my licenses but i can't go to jail. I just was wondering if i could get some unbias input from some on what i've said. The cops were nice and understanding if that helps agreeing it was foggy and others do this too. I'm just fearful for the worse. I wasn't trying to be careless trust me. The car still drives if that gives an idea on how bad the crash was. God i feel so stupid my boyfriend says not to worry so much but i can't help it. Any input on what you guys think? I'm 25 if age matters

Oh I am sorry for all this. Unfortunately I don't know anything about laws etc and I know every state is different.

Boyfriend is correct. Don't worry. Easier said then done. Lots of people on this site practice mindfullness. Its about staying in the present and not thinking of the future or past. You might want to research it to help you at this time.

Thinking of you;

have you called your insurance agent? they should be knowledgeable about local driving laws. inasmuch as your sight of the stop sign was hampered by fog and no one else was involved or injured in the accident, i'd say that jail is unlikely. your clean record for the last several years should help also. please call your insurance agent or, if necessary, speak with an attorney regarding application of local driving laws. hopefully, they can put your worried mind to rest. good luck!
Thanks for this!

Thank you both you have helped with me being more at ease and a friend telling me they've had two and their experience sigh. The insurance is throu my boyfriend's sister sadly. I'm going to go postal here soon if he doesn't get that out of her name soon. I just feel horrible about it all. So much going on with this stuff and i'm still not right. But thank you- those are good ideas with calling someone to find out more and mindfulness. Sadly my dbt book has been put down early october. I feel like bad luck still but i'll try to be in the moment and not think so negatively and yet be real. Be grateful it wasn't worse as well. One day at a time some days
