Why don't we share photos of the places we live, whether it's our home, our city or country, critters, plants, landscape, basically any pictures of the places we live and what's around us. But they have to be photos you've taken yourself!
A few pictures from a camping trip 2 months ago down the bottom of my state-    I discovered a group of pigeons in town that sit on you and like the camera, if this is anything to go by.  The bushland and some critters near my house-

 Generally anywhere I live looks similar to this, stacks of books, and more books.  One of my favorite views of my home. I live in a place full of nature, lots of hiking and rural scenery  I don't live on a farm, but I use to live close to a lot, I"m in a city now, but it isn't too far a drive to get back out to cattle and barns. Those are things I miss seeing, and hearing coyotes at night |

I live near a beach so I will show pictures of the beach which is about a minute away from me. I took these myself. Plus some pictures of a pond which is near me.

Wow, everyone has such beautiful pictures!!!!

So many nice pictures, I don't know how to put pictures on my computer yet, something I have yet to learn, and I don't have anyone to teach me right now. It has been on my to learn about list.

Come, let me take you on a tour of Halifax.
View from above of the fort Halifax was built around:  View from above of our Waterfront:  This guy (do you recognize him from a kids show? He lives here in real life!) lives at our waterfront and takes tourists and children for rides in our harbour  This is not Halifax, but a close area called Peggys Cove. Very famous for its beauty.  Historical Fact: Our city was nearly wiped out in its entirety in 1917 by The Halifax Explosion. A ship in the harbour carrying explosives caught fire. Nearly a MILE outward in every direction from the explosion was damaged. Things closer to the waterfront of course, had more damage. Many passed away, but as well Halifax came together as a city to rebuild. I suspect this is why there is a real feeling of community here that you do not find in most cities. here is a picture from back then to show the devastation:  There are many cultures present in Halifax, one of which includes the Buddhist community. This is a shot of the meditation room in the Shambhala Center. The room itself is a sight to behold, so pretty. This picture doesn't really do it justice but I can't find a better one.  There are some truly beautiful churches as well, like the Saint Mary's Basilica.   The inside is equally gorgeous, but I can't find any pictures of it. We have much culture here, this next photo was taken at Yuk Yuks comedy club, where anyone can apply to do comedy on stage:  If Theatre is more your thing and you also like food, try Halifax Dinner Theatre:  The actors also serve your food throughout. Its quite a neat experience. If you are looking for old timey fun, there are a couple of bars where everyone dresses in old fashioned clothing:

Couple more things.
If you are looking for some dancing, we have one of the best LGBT bars going. You don't have to be a drinker to enjoy this place, many come for the dancing and music alone.  This following picture is a photo of Matilda Newman, an immigrant who settled in halifax's now defunct Africvile.Africville, a small community in Nova Scotia populated entirely by Black families, was ordered destroyed and its residents relocated when the nearby city of Halifax seized the land in 1965. Though this happened, there is still a thriving african canadian culture to this day.  I must, of course, on any good tour, not forget to introduce GUS!!!  Gus is the Natural History Museums favorite(and only) turtle, who has become famous due to two escapes lasting several years each. The first they believe he was stolen and the second he got out, and someone took him in. Each time he was returned years later. He is known to be an adventurer and a city hero.   Thats it for now folks. Thats enough of a wall of text and photos for you.
