Last night AJ took out his contacts and I guess scratched his eye? He said it felt like something was in his eye, so he rubbed it. His g/f said his eyelid or whatever swelled up like a golf ball. This morning he is wearing an eye patch.

SO, this morning I said you now have insurance, it would be a good idea to have the eye checked. Your eyes aren't something to "play doctor" with. His g/f rolls in with ooo he is ok .. SO I mention, if he is ok why is he still wearing an eye patch..??? So the verbal battle begins..

His g/f kept saying he just scratched his eye and it will heal itself. Then AJ said he put some "pink eye" drops in his eye.. I give that mother's look. Like if your eye is just scratched why are you using pink eye drops? I still think you should have it checked..............

Then he flips out.. His g/f kept making comments that he is ok... SO I say, well your an adult. Do what you want as you always do.... I just think it is important to take care of your eyes. It could be an infection . Should be checked and I waddle back to the downstairs...

Guess mom's are a pain in the butt.

Lol!! Radio Flyer

Not at all... think your Son was just being a man and his G/F a bit naieve. My Sister wears contacts and scratched her eye too she had to go to the GP and get drops for her eye. She called her Optician's and they sent her to the GP to get the drops.

Hopefully he will be ok soon!
Thanks for this!

This has happened to me twice and both times I ended up with an ulcerated cornea because I tried to wait it out. It's not something to mess around with and it can cause scarring. You were right to say something, I think.

Well you know what they say, when they get older they know it all now don't they.

Gf knows it all too. You at least got to say your piece and held your motherly obligation to give a dam and make a suggestion. Nope, AJ is too big to drag to the car and take to the doctors. It goes by so quickly and then suddenly they just know it all. Hopefully he wont learn something the hard way. And you have it doubly hard because men don't like going to the doctors.

So this is what you have to do in front of them as you walk away

Open Eyes.. You got that right. They know it all. Most times I make a suggestion he will do the opposite of what I say.. He came downstairs looking for something in the laundry room and I ask him how his eye feels. He says it just hurts a litte and it is getting better. Still has the eye patch on... He couldn't find what he wanted in the laundry room so I get it for him. On his way back upstairs he stumbles over me.. SOOOO I say, gosh it must be hard seeing out of one eye... He strikes back with, yes, when you are in the way..

Moms say the dardest things ... Should have said nothing, but I couldn't help it..

Nacht.. I sure hope it isn't an ulcerated cornea. We won't know, unless he gets it checked.. Told him you can play doctor with your toe or fingers. But just don't play doctor with your eyes...
