What's not to love about the spritely colored, crisply sweet vegetable called carrot?!?! That is not to say that every can we open is cat food, but it is difficult to convince the cat of this.
Thanks for this!

LOL. Yes they think it's "all about them". Did you offer the cat a carrot?

Ive never offered a cat a carrot. But I had a little 4-lb tortie who would fight tooth&nail for cantaloup. I didn't know any better & let her eat so much once she turned her system basic. Almost lost her.

And here I thought cats would only eat what was good for them!

I was eating canned carrots but thinking about how good raw carrots are. The cat is convinced that every can being opened must contain cat food, then when he discovers that some cans contain carrots or beets or whatnot, he gets disgruntled. And I can't tell him; I have to be willing to hold the can down low so he can stick his nose near the contents for sniffing.

see my dogs are crazed for veggies...i don't eat the canned ones but i doubt that would make a difference to them!...even then little puppy foster i just got...3 weeks removed from the hell of a puppy mill now fights for tomatoes & carrots...

it's so wrong here...i open a can & nobody cares,...but i open a bag of produce & the whole place goes crazy! a friend gave me a container of cherry tomatoes as a gift for the dogs..over the summer i am very popular...we get all the veggies from people's gardens that no one wants...because they know my idiot dogs will kill for them. i freeze them & they eat fresh frozen stuff all year...
Thanks for this!

My horse, Dusty, likes carrots but he doesn't like them cold from the fridge so I microwave his carrots a bit.

I have a feline freak who's in love with corn husks and baby spinach. Every time she sees me pull something green out of the fridge she has a fit! I have to show her what it is or risk getting mauled for withholding

Knowing my cat she'd lick the carrot, then bat it across the floor as a new toy.
