Like cloth diapers, for instance:

I can really appreciate some of these ideas and have some food for thought on some others. Regarding cloth diapers... as much as I hate them going to landfills, washing them bothers me just as much; on the fence about that one but there has to be a better alternative. Something to consider too, hmmm?

Thanks for the article, Pachy.

There ought to be a room in every house which has a baby, that has a concrete floor and a drain, and you would just put the naked baby in it, and hose the whole place down whenever needed.

My mother used to scrape my cloth diapers off outside, in the middle of winter, at a time (1970s) when New England weather was routinely -20. It can be done again, people just need to get over their modern hang-ups. Good idea Pachyderm! My basement sink is just the place for this unpleasant task. Maybe I'll get a spray attachment and stick the little guy in the sink. That would certainly be one way to deal with the aversion to soiling ones hands with that brown stuff they make.
Thanks for this!
