Hello everyone. I just rejoined after a much needed time off. I have found the new system in chat i like the layout BUT...HOWEVER....
It sticks, lags, it disconnects you from the internet. It is not as fast as the other one and has less than half of all the emolis and symbols. Has anyone found a better system on the internet for chat other than the present one that we have? Are others interested in researching it and finding maybe something better? You cannot keep up with people, it skips, you don't get the whole message. Just a consideration. Thank you. ![]() |

It's still early days. Hopefully any bugs will be ironed out over time, if PC has any coders working on it. I like the idea of people looking into alternatives though, but I'm I'm guessing DocJohn and the rest of the people behind the scenes have done so aplenty and know what to look for.
I've not had issues like you've explained here, and I've also not had issues like others have described. I think there's a chance this can be sorted, since it may well be working fine and not for others. It might help to share things like which OS and browser (plus version thereof) people are using. Our user agent (something browsers typically share, which shows some basic OS, version, and browser information) will share useful stuff already, but that might not be possible through chat, which could make finding a commonality between all these problems difficult. If it were me, I would put up a poll asking whether users have had issues with the new chat software, providing some tickboxes with generalized issues people may be having. I would then (using shell, although the same could be done with languages like python) programmatically parse each user's information, assuming there's some sort of UA log or something useful like that, (likely from the site's database or vbulletin's logs) to find out which problems are common on which type and version of the system and browser.
