iv got an idea

Hey guys
I know this has got nothing to do with mental health but iv got an idea I want to share. I feel safe here so I thought if I share my idea with you first before I take it to my boss it would be easier if he guns me down. I'm an apprentice at a tattoo parlour, here in south africa we have a major problem with rhino poaching ( it really gets to me because I'm more of an animal person than anyone I know). So my idea is this any tattoos the shop does of animals that are endangered we should donate a percentage of to the wild life foundation. I spoke to one of the tattooers and he thought its a great idea, but I have to speak to the boss because its my idea well that's what he said. So do you guys think its a good or bad idea??

I think it's a great idea! To me, doing something like that is being part of the solution and not part of the problem. I really hope your boss goes for it. It could be a way for your boss to drum up new business as well if it's advertised. I'm sure there are lots of folks out there that feel as you do and may even donate more themselves. I say go for it!

What a fabulous idea.....I'm with sabby that it would be a great plan to advertise the heck out of that one, would get lots of animal lovers in people that maybe never would have thought that they could tie the two things together and add to their love for their tattoos.

It is a terrific idea and it is worth asking about. The advertising is a good point. Also to go with your proposal, it would be helpful to have on hand some of the possible organization(s)' information to donate to, in case he/she is interested and asks.

From a fellow South African, I think it is a fantastic idea. We have so many endangered animals that the callous people of our country don't care about that every kind action and donation means something. I am sure your boss will be most agreeable. Keep us posted.

it is an awesome idea. i would donate if i went to your shop. a suggestion make it a local charity not something huge..this way you know your $$ is going to one that does good work in your area & the funds will be well spent.

maybe offer a special on tats of a rhino or other endangered species as well...

What a great idea! I'd definitely participate as a customer if I were there.

So I made a nice presentation, did a local survey asking locals about it and even got the local magazine to give us free advertising and one journalist said he would do a big story on it. I thought all of this would be great and my boss would like it. He turned around and said to me I should be focusing on keeping his shop clean and not trying to change things that are inevitable, and its stupid and no one will go for it. So out of spite I told another tattoo shop my idea. The guy said it was great and he would like to do it if I'm ok with it. He said that he will call it" the (my name)tattooing for charity project". So my boss is loosing out and maybe some wild life can be saved.

Oh, I am so sorry. That really sucks and your bosses attitude surprises me. (Maybe the other parlour can offer you a job?). I am glad that your idea will receive the recognition it deserves and that your name will be associated with it. Your boss has lost out. Big time.

Yeah some people are like that.. I just don't hand out my ideas anymore.. But major kudos to the next guy who took it up, I hope he makes a butt-ton of money for it

I was going to say....great idea then I read down and saw where your boss gunned you down. Those are the kind we don't need in the world. I think you should try to work for the other guy that thinks more like you. Don't let your boss get you down keep up the good work .We need more people like you around this planet.
