We had a storm tonight and our power was out for a bit. As some of you know, I am new to DSL. Anyways, when the power came back on, the light for DSL just kept blinking. I couldn't connect at all. I called the hotline number and after being on hold, a recording came on and said if you are experiencing problems connecting, unplug your modem and leave it unplugged for two minutes and then plug back in. Well, I kept doing this and it wouldn't work. Finally, I unplugged it for more than ten minutes and it finally reconnected.
Now, my question, do you leave the DSL on all the time? Do you unplug it when you aren't using it? What should I do? What do you do?
Thank you for any responses.
Linda

Boopers, I always unplug my DSL during a thunderstorm. I was told to do it by a friend who is an electrical engineer. I figured he knew what was right to do.

Hugs,

Jan
