Saving A Life.:)

This is something that happened two weeks ago on Sunday afternoon (around the start of April.)
Its something I keep forgetting that actually happened because its so unlike anything that ever happens to me. I was walking near my home in a busy area within a city. And at a cross roads there was a busy road on my right, and a lesser busy road coming to it on my left. (I was on the left hand side of the road, also I live in UK so we drive on the 'Proper' side of the roads..lol.) When all of a sudden there was a 'Two' year old-ish child running down the middle of the road on my left. Behind was his mother chasing him and shouting to me to stop him. This child was a second away from the main (very busy fast road to my right.) So I swooped him up of the road he was running down to stop him going onto the busy road on my right. As I held the child he was giggling in my arms and having fun without knowing how close this experience was. His mother was very happy, and the child was saying - Byeeee , Byeeee as I went about my biz.

I am sharing this because its something I never thought would happen as I had coffee that morning. At the end of the day I still thought it did not happen to me or the child. It was one of those moment where I was in the right place at the right time (like within a second, in the right place.)

Something like this makes me think about my whole life. Every little moment or event, choice I have made, corner turned and unfortunate thing led to this moment. Obviously all events - good or bad - means something.
I forget about it all the time, I was prompted today to write about this in forums.

( the next morning, Monday I woke with a lower leg that does not work any more, I am for mri's n stuff. I will be walking again properly) It does not upset me that cause and effect works so strange.

You should feel very proud you acted fast and saved this little boy from danger. Whenever I respond to a poster who's feeling suicidal, my favorite thing to say is - we're all pieces of a great puzzle and if you end your life prematurely...you'll never know how you may be valuable to someone else.

Wow, massive congratulations for acting so promptly, not everyone would be able to do it. That little kid and his mom were very lucky you were there to save the day.

I don't know if I would had acted so quickly in the past. I had an event which I think changed me lots in 2002 (well this event in 2002 'did' change me.) So my mind races lots, like always a few steps ahead
Its cool.

as a follow up to my post......I so do seriously recommend anyone to 'save a life'.

I guess I would put in the top ten things to do b4 one dies.

We never know when we make a positive difference in someone's life and in this case you were able to save a child from the danger, such a positive impact. Also as you mentioned, we can make a such a difference with our choices and by acting on them. So glad you were there to help them and acted so quickly. Good going!
