We are water logged here... The pump to drain the water to the ac stopped working which means the water from the ac is draining on the floor. You can hear the water squishing when you walk on the floor. Now there is so much water under the floor it is starting to surface on the top of the floor...

The faucet in the bathtub upstairs broke today which means water is spouting out of the faucet. We can't turn the water valve off because when the kitchen was removed upstairs, the guy covered the valve with drywall, which means someone has to break a big whole in the wall to get to the valve. They aren't even sure exactly where the valve is located behind the wall so they have to cut sections of the drywall out to find it...

Is calling for rain today too........ lol

Radio_Flyer...always liked that name! Hi RF! I've just got to say that I like your laughing at it all. It's a rueful laugh perhaps but it's something that I would do I think. I know I've seen some times when I just went oh man...what in the !!!???...and just shook my head at the ridiculousness of it all.

That said I hope that gets squared away and things back to normal. I hope you're not out personal property and you're covered for any losses if so. Go figure the walled off valve would wind up being a problem. If you had access to it you probably would never ever need it...!!! Hope you're getting things figured out. Big pain it must be. Take care RF!

Thanks LovebirdsFlying. Replaced the water pump to the ac. Not sure it is exactly working right. FLoor is dry but the water isn't draining from the hose. Kind of makes a funny noise when it is running.. Other than that.. guess all is well and no tears needed this time..

Ya know quizzickle, sometimes all one can do is laugh when things get rough. These weren't "major" things, but when combined with all that goes on here, it can become overwhelming. ANd in my book, when overwhelmed , laughter is the key.. Just can't let others in the house see or hear ya laughing.. Because one should not laugh when one is trying to replace a water pump and they break a few extra pipes in the process...

You got that right on the walled off valve. But then the person who walled over it wasn't all that bright and we weren't all that "bright" to have not noticed it until now.. lol

With so many things going wrong with this house, "the dishwasher doesn't work, sink in what was once a kitchen upstairs leaks, the sink in the kitchen in basement leaks, the stove only has one burner left that works, amd the grand ole heat pump needs replaced, just to mention a few things, " and AJ running to Home Depot for parts all day, AJ's g/f talked him into looking for another house.

SO for today, I can smile... ALL is almost well... Things are getting done....SO we take deep breaths, laugh a bit, and move forward..

(((Radio)))

When my son was in the military several years ago, he came home on leave for Christmas. My husband's favorite aunt in AZ died suddenly. We couldn't all afford to attend the funeral, so I told my husband to go by himself and not worry about us.

While at the gathering after the funeral, he called me to see how we were doing. I told him we were fine, to forget about us, and to catch up with family. It was dangerously cold outside, but we were fine - nice and warm.

The moment I hung up the phone, I heard a loud bang and the sound of water rushing. I opened the door to my laundry room, and got smacked hard in the face with brutally ice cold water. The pipe had burst at about eye level, and it was only about a food away from my face.

My son came running over to see what was happening. It happened to him too, and the room was flooding quickly. He ran over to turn off the water, but the handle broke.

I thought about what I had just said to my husband, and I started to laugh - really laugh. We were drenched, freezing cold, and had no idea how to turn off the water. It was late at night, and our only option was to call my husband. My poor son thought I was nuts for laughing - kept asking "WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING!?!" I felt so bad when I had to call my husband back to ask him how to turn off the water. I tried to remain calm, but he could hear the panic in my voice - made it impossible NOT to think about us, or even take a break from us.

Your AJ is trying so hard to be a good man and do right by you and his family. I sure hope and pray things work out well for you.

Boy, when it rains it pours!

If I found out the water shutoff was behind drywall I would be sooo mad with whoever did that!

I hope things are looking better!

Things are looking up, Umbral Seraph. AJ tried to fix the tub faucet. HE did a great job with cutting the drywall to get to the shutoff valve.. Just had problems with the pipes on the faucet so we have to call a plumber today..AM hoping the plumber suggests that the hot n cold "knobs" be replaced along with the faucet... Might as well fix it all now? right?

AJ found a cool hot tub on craigslist. A small one at a great price. He said it is the best thing he ever bought for the house because it is soooooooo relaxing and stress relieving..He soaks in the hot tub everynight...SO am thinking this is why he didn't get angry or upset. He just did what he had to do... Do believe he likes a challenge tho..
