With the 2012 Summer Olympics around the corner, I thought it would be cool to add some new events that reflect our modern life.

1. Cardboard sign twirling, you have all seen these folks in front of pawn shops etc.. rapidly twirling a pointy cardboard sign, some of them are quite creative.

2. Speed Texting, who can decimate Lord of the Rings into a text message the fastest.

3. Facebook events, who can make the most new facebook friends in 10 minutes.

4. Food Eating Contests, might as well move these up to the big time. That kid from Japan would be heavily favored to bring in the Gold.

I am sure you guys could come up with some more...

Thats a start, I am sure you guys could come up with other events.

The paparazzi marathon. The field has to chase a celebrity laden limousine for 26 miles avoiding periodic appearances by bodyguards who will try to grab and smash your camera. The best times as well as the best accompanying photographs designate the winner.
Thanks for this!

Some of those sign twirlers are quite spectacular! A gamer marathon might just go on for eternity! Oh and you can't forget speed dating!
Thanks for this!

I'm gonna enter the procrastination marathon...later.

Similarly, how about who can find the most things to do during working hours to avoid doing any actual work!
Thanks for this!

Tommy Teirnan, an Irish comedian, talked about the olympics forbidding steroids and performance enhancing drugs. What if they had the drug olympics, where athletes could take any performance enhancing meds they want to? We could see a 1000 meter dash in 5 seconds. lol
