Hi sports fans,
An incredible performance by Lance "Buddy" Franklin in the Australian Football League the other day. 13 goals, the highest single tally for a number of years now. It's harder to kick big totals in the modern game, as there is a greater emphasis on team defence which makes it harder for the power forwards. Enjoy. |

Too bad that sport doesn't get more worldwide interest. I could watch this. Soccer I can't tho it's the biggest sport of 'em all. I'll watch golf before I watch soccer. To be kind...or at least fair [no insult to fans of sport out there] I can't watch baseball either. Too slow. Mind you I loved playing soccer and baseball growing up. Just can't find the patience to watch it. Aus. rules football has a good mix of action and scoring. Do you guys call it Australian rules football? Anyways, decent sport.

Yes, that's what we call it, although most people just call it "AFL" which is a misnomer, as it's actually just the name of the competition. Like calling basketball "NBA".
The greatest player of all time is this guy. He was just a whole lot more prolific than anyone else. The only midfielder to make the top 10 all time goalkicking list. And he was brutal too. One time he thought he'd killed one of his opponents ![]() |

Yeah that was the 70s and 80s.
Um, probably because it's Australian, and we're not an expansionist country, unlike England who came up with rugby and soccer. |
