It's not what you think.
Although I do have a very strong inner-cat in me, it is not for the same reason kitties use it.

I got some catnip seeds to grow so I can make homemade catnip tea. It is in the same family as mint, and apparently has a sedative effect, even more-so than chamomile. I am very eager to try it to help me sleep! And I heard it is quite tasty, and tastes pretty much exactly like mint tea.

Anyone else tried it?? If so, did it work? :33

Quite interesting. I had never heard of that before. I grew some catnip but my cats didn't care much for the plants. I heard it was a genetic thing where cats without the gene don't find it appealing. I wonder if humans have captnip genes.

I found this interesting. Let us know your experience.

Drinking catnip tea is known to have many benefits. Catnip tea is known to contain a chemical called nepetalctone which promotes relaxation and sleep. Catnip tea is also known to alleviate pain caused due to menstrual cramping. Also strong catnip tea can help in reducing pain caused due to migraine headaches. Catnip tea can also help in easing the symptoms of flu like fever and sore throat. You can also use strong catnip tea for nasal decongestion. Catnip tea can also help in reducing the symptoms of diarrhea. http://catniptea.org/

Hm... I ought to get some. I've had chronic migraines since I was a child. Not even narcotic pain meds touch them, and I'm allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.
I wonder if my cats will harass me while I'm drinking it LOL
