Beading (mostly jewelry), just started painting last fall....never was much good at art.....those lollypop trees just never did anything for me.....then I started to draw & work with acrylic paints & shocked myself that I really had talent behind those lollypop trees.

Spend much of my time reading & especially doing Bible study work......& gardening......that is my favorite hobby of the summer. planting planters with all kinds of different flowers together making them look artistic.

Working in the yard is more work than a hobby....but since I don't pay myself....maybe it's considered a hobby. Guess anything after you retire is considered a hobby to people if it keeps you busy & out of trouble.

Love to knit & sew crafts.....but left all that stuff in California when I left & haven't had the money to replace it.

I raise tarantulas, true spiders, centipedes, and scorpions in captivity, specializing with tarantulas in the subfamily Ornithoctoninae, including the genera Haplopelma, Lampropelma, Ornithoctonus, and Cyriopagopus.

I study the world with an emphasis on the Near East, North Africa, West Africa, the Sahelian Zone, the Horn of Africa, Central Asia, South Asia, the Caucasus, and de facto states. I know all the world's capital cities.

I am an avid chess player and photographer.

I collect encyclopedias and maps.
