I cancelled cable TV over a year ago, fed up with paying $80+ per month for the reality shows and reruns. I did some research, reading reviews that I hoped were "real" on Amazon. I rec'd the antenna today, and I was
dismayed when I saw the box delivered. It was BIG! The antenna looks like a big UFO and is really designed to mount outside on the roof! I couldn't do that, having to do it myself. I read the directions, hooked it up, and mounted it on top of my tv cabinet. Hey...Hooray!...I'm getting 10 HD channels. I can watch the news! ![]() I'm attaching a pic of the UFO. The TV pic is actually very clear HD; my camera not good. |

I've heard of those and made a coupla inquiries at one point. Excellent for you! They're supposed to drag in some decent signals. May I ask the name and perhaps your cost? This isn't really related but I bought an old shortwave radio a couple of years ago and built an antenna based on directions from the web. A simple thing but it worked so much better than a wire strung randomly thru the backyard trees. Mmmm....free entertainment...YES! I just need a few channels really...without the junk that comes with a basic package even. Those antennas are a grand alternative. Are you pleased with it?

Like your artrox Seeker! Do you use acrylic? Oil might be a little impractical seeing as holding the rock while working on it would be preferable. You're a talent but then you've been creative forever likely...you are or were an art teacher as well? Have any others to perhaps show?

It does look like a UFO. After a while you will get used to. If you don't, maybe you could pay some-one to put it on the roof so your neighbours can enjoy the view while you watch the news.
![]() I am glad that you can get more stations to watch. Pay TV is very expensive. |

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00 I am pleased with it, because it works! But it has a little remote that is supposed to search and save channels, but as far as I can tell, it is useless. I just did a reprogramming/scan using my tv remote, and that is how I got the 10 channels. I heard a story on The Car Guys show on NPR about a man putting a potato on his broken car antenna and getting reception. ![]() |

Just have to point this out, before you buy a TV antenna check your area to see if the stations are all in the UHF band or if some are in the VHF band.
A lot (most) so called HD antennas are only designed to pick up UHF signals. This is a great site for antenna usage but has a horrible name www.tvfool.com

be sure to rescan monthly or so. when they do the pbs pledge drives, for example, they make the channels available for the drive, and for some time before and or after. usually in the fall.
