So here I am, all happy and asleep and totally making up for last night when all I could think of was how there was no AC and mosquitoes were treating me like a walking buffet... definitely an improvement tonight.
So I'm sleeping, when I get a sudden pain in my hand. (You might want to turn away now if you get scared easily.) So I'm thinking, random spine, shard of glass... I wonder. So I open my eyes. And there's a bug. A sizable one. On my hand. So I do what any sane person would do. I whack my hand on the bed. It hurt quite a bit (still does, but ice cubes are an amazing invention). But what was our mystery critter? A wasp. At almost four in the morning. In a room with a closed window. Why the darned thing came in the room and stung an outstretched hand is beyond me. It's also the first time I've ever been stung in conscious memory. It actually doesn't hurt as bad as I thought. And at least it wasn't a bee. Or a hornet. Or a... wait, I still need to go back to sleep. Just felt I had to share, is all. ![]() Goodnight everyone! Oh, and I guess this means I'm not allergic. Phew. |

Bark, a paste of baking soda and water will help take the swelling down.

Thanks for the tip, lizardlady. I don't have any swelling now, just some faint residual pain, but I'll see if the paste helps with that.
