I feel like I'm reexperiencing my 20's. I'm going back to school this fall for retraining, and I have my college orientation tomorrow. It starts at 10 with a general welcome to the college speach by the president, then I have my program orientation at 11:30, then a couple of hours to explore the various student services, then the mature student orientation, and then hopefully I'll be able to buy my books.
I'm nervous, but I'm looking forward to it. splitimage |

Thanks everyone.
Orientation was really fun. We started with a general intro to the college, that was good. Then we broke into smaller groups for our departmental orientations - there were only a couple of other people from my program in that orientation, and I didn't get a chance to meet them, but they looked to be about my age so that made me feel better. Then there was a free BBQ (always like free food) with displays by all the college services set up outside. I did a campus tour, which made me feel a lot better. Even though it's a really big school, the buildings are all well laid out and well marked with signs. I figure after a week, I'll have no trouble getting around. Then I had the mature student orientation, and I was definitely one of the oldest students there - but that's ok. About the only downside was, I was hoping to get my student ID and books, but the line up for the ID office was insane, and in the bookstore, none of my profs had put in their book orders (BOO) so I wasn't able to get my books. But overall I feel good. I kind of feel like I'm 18 again only a lot wiser. I'm excited and nervous about starting classes next week. splitimage |
