I know nothing about antlers. But I need some, and I need them to be cheap. Also this might seem like a dumb question, but can you buy antlers that have naturally fallen off ?

I have no idea what the cost of antlers is, or where even to look to buy. I want some that are not too large as this is for a headdress.

If any of you have any ideas, I thank you very much.

You can buy antlers that they call chalks that are older and not good for much but decoration. They are cheap. If you need small ones I would look for deer antlers not elk. People go out and find antlers that have fallen off naturally all the time.

I have found "sheds" out in the forest before and I also know you can buy them on ebay because I have done that before. You also might want to ask at your local hunting stores. They might be able to help you.
Also, many of the bow hunting shops have message boards. Talk to them about what you need. Post a message or talk to the employees, they may know of someone who has some to give away.

My son is a hunter and he says to go to Cabellas, bass pro shops, or any sporting good store and ask for 3D archery target antlers. They look real but are plastic and cheap. They can be used for anything you want, are lightweight and if one gets broken it's no big deal.

"rattling" antlers are cheap too, especially the synthetic kind; you rattle them together and it makes the males during hunting season think there's a fight going on :-)

Walmart has them for $20ish:

Wow, thanks for all the info each of you. Now I am really glad I asked here, I had no idea you could get fake antlers that look real, at walmart even, a block from my house.

This just made things a lot less stressful! I'll try to find some real ones, no native america craft stores in my town, I am always looking for a good pair of moccasins. Actually we do not even have a craft store at all. If this fails at least now I know I have another option. I did look on ebay, but after the cost of the antlers + shipping it was a bit pricey. Seems like ebay is getting more expensive, I know they started charging more fees to sellers, maybe that's why.

Just make out of tinfoil and duct tape, totally kidding lol (sounds like something my mom would've made for me as a child). We find some shedded deer antlers around her sometimes, always a treat. Hope you share a pic of the headdress when complete
