No surprise F-150 tops the list. Functional and price friendly. Would personally prefer the Silverado but overall the Ford carries the most bang fer the buck. F150s have been the top sellers for years in Canada as well. The new design [2009+] looks damned good.

No suprise about Vermont, my teammate is from there and they swear by their Subarus. I was suprised to hear about the Camry being #1 here in NC, I would have thought we would have been more truck folk here.
The CRV has been incredibly popular (number one in several states), understandable as well, more for its user friendly attributes and reputation for being reliable than anything else. I suspect the F-150 will only get stronger as Ford plans on putting the next generation on a crash diet in an attempt to take off about 500-700 lbs in order to significantly improve gas mileage. All in all the survey shows that the vast majority of the public are not car enthusiasts but see cars as nothing more than appliances on wheels. Unstandable too considering how expensive cars have become. |

Florida = Toyota Camry. Can't say I'm surprised based on how many I see on the road.
Seeker, the article says - in very fine print - it's based on the number of resgistrations in the state. |

I personally would never buy one myself. The styling is incredibly generic, and Toyota does not know how to engineer a suspension in a reasonably priced car to save its own life. |

No suprise to hear. I recently test drove a 2012 Subaru Impreza Hatchback and came away impressed with the level of engineering, solid driving mechanics and overall quality of the car. If I were in the market for compact class car it would be at the top of my list right now.

The one thing that have truly hated about the SUV/Crossover craze is the death of the station wagon, I bought a 2008 Passat wagon last year and found the vehicle to be incredibly versitle, fun to drive, gets great gas mileage and is rather handsome in styling.
Some people just need the extra cargo space and do not have kids to shuttle (raises hand) Unfortunately VW discontinued this puppy in America in 2010. It carries on in Europe under the name "All Trac" I envy our European freinds who have a dearth of choice with these vehicles. The only affordable mid sized wagon left is the Subaru Outback which has begun to morph into a quasi crossover, it is a shame the Legacy GT wagon was discontinued. The other alternatives left are expensive things like the BMW and Mercedes wagons My only hope is that Mazda will decide to sell this here in the States: ![]() |

Yup. Ford F-150 for Texas. I didn't even need to look that one up. We Texans love our trucks.
