I watch the news, so I know the world has been burning since about... long time ago. Not news anymore. If we are talking metaphorically. One gets used to it.

That's why I blocked the News forum on PC. Too many freaking out about stuff that really isn't news at all. Like really, what's going wrong with the world is the last thing people here need to worry about.

Too many people were busy with their damn lifes and let the communist take over the country. "I have other worries" leads to mess.

No offense, but sometimes I fume over the news. No, I will not turn them off like the nation does. I will hope that the next affair is final straw for people to walk to the streets.

You know how they say it...first they came for Jews, I didn't care... if we don't care, in the end nobody will care for us...

It's a love-hate relationship for me. It's hard for me to comprehend how humanity is so wonderful, kind, forgiving, selfless, generous, helpful, loving and all things Godly. To reconcile this truth with the fact that humanity is also at times hateful, murderous, sexually predatory, deceitful, unkind, and all things satanic, it's overwhelming at times for me while I am in grief. Then I feel guilty for not knowing what's going on in the world after neglecting to be informed. Vicious cycle going back and forth. Oh, the humanity!!! Who will save us? Will we save each-other? Do we want to live in a world like this, with us in it? I don't know. But we're here and I think I'll just take one breath at a time. As long as the sun keeps rising. But if it decides not to rise someday, I might reconsider. But only then.

You can't shut the world out unfortunately, you can take breaks though. But I think we all have to make an effort to keep up with what's going on in the world, and even though there's a lot of bad stories out there, there are good ones too.

yup, exactly. And i agree about the good news part. Seems sometimes by turning off the news, you will get just the impression that it's ALL bad.

Hey, there are revolutions and peace treaties. As may Egypt's future be uncertain... I shall treasure post-revolution after party with all it's "future is ours, future is sweet" energies... eventhough i just watched it on livestream.
And as much as I whine whine whine about happenings in my country... we came a long way. And so did others.
