Energies, yes. Should we be concerned about what's outside your door or some such? >_<

Don't believe in ghosts as in remaining souls of dead people still here on earth after death....but I do believe that there are spiritual beings both good & bad that are out there that may sometimes want us to think they are ghosts for a specific reason

If we are talking about long flowing sheets ala Casper no I don't.

However, I do believe that the energy of living beings continues on after the physical body dies. I also believe those energies can become "stuck" and not move on after death. If that's what you mean by "ghost" then yes I do believe.

What brought on this question quizzickle?

Just wanted to spark some discussion for fun I think. T'is the season...Yesterday during some casual chat about life, the universe and everything else with a neighbor, he recounted a ghostly encounter to me. Wondering what others may have seen felt etc.

I haven't had any experiences myself. Nothing I couldn't explain anyway.

Ah!

OK, personal experience. Years ago hubby and I had a cat who lived to a ripe old age of 16. After he died hubby and I each independently heard the cat meow (he had a very distinctive meow) for months after he died. For months neither of us mentioned what we heard to each other. We both thought we were just having trouble dealing with his death. Then one of us mentioned it and we both said we'd been hearing him. I thought maybe his energy was "stuck" with us. We talked it over and out loud told him it was OK to move on. Neither of us ever heard him again. Was it his "ghost" or were we both having trouble letting go of his memory? I'll never know, but in my heart I believe he did not want to move on until we told him we would be OK if he did.

I think it's more likely you had lived with your cat for 16 years and were so used to hearing it meow that you continued to believe it was meowing for a while even though it wasn't there.

I don't believe in ghosts, they might exist, but I try not to jump to believe anything supernatural unless there's no other explanation. There's almost always an explanation, though, and I'm going to guess the supernatural is incredibly rare in my life if it even exists. I can't say anything about your life except that we hear phantom sounds all the time if we've been used to them. Phantom phone is the common one, you can even hear buzzes, but your phone's not ringing.

I think anything is possible. Certain beliefs are left for life after I guess. It is fun to think that they somehow still connect to us after death or that spirits guide us throughout life. Even though science looks to proof and evidence of things....they didn't believe Galileo when he said the world was round or Darwin when he said we came from apes. We may not have "evidence" of ghosts and afterlife but I like to think something is beyond this simple existence.

When my parents sold a home they had built which had been used for many family gatherings. My sister had passed away prior to the sale of the home. The person who bought the house, told the neighbours she sensed a presence in the house and it spooked her. She was then told of my family and the loss of my sister. The new owner believed my sister's spirit was in the house still. She had a priest come to bless the house.

No, I don't. But one of my great-uncles died in his house and we inherited it and I like to pretend he haunts it, even though nothing interesting happens there. I used to scare my cousins with stories about it when we were kids.
