Hi!

I saw on the internet that a lot of people don't have even as much as $500 spare cash or accessible savings.

Being a single mom of three on dissability with no child support, no credit, and not much family. Nope. I just started working very part time, I am allowed to make $500 on top of my disability a month. So if I had a month, now I could do it.

Living without savings is a bit scary.

Can't Explain,

How quickly fortunes change.

At this time, I could not even afford a ticket for a cot in the hull of the Titanic.

Sinking quickly,

The only reason I was able to answer yes was because I sold my pedal harp last month which gave me a large infusion of cash, which even after paying my friends back and my second semester tuition, leaves me with a cushion. Before that no way. The amount of money I'm allowed to withdraw from my pension barely covers my fixed costs. I had to borrow money from 3 different friends to pay my bankruptcy fees, and moving expenses. It was embarrassing.

Could you find an extra 0 right away?
Thanks for this!

At this stage of my life I can answer "yes", but for most of my life the answer would've been no way. Matter of fact there were some periods of my life could've have come up with $5.

Split,

I am sorry to hear that you had to sell your harp. Within the short time that I have been here, I have been aware of what your harp has meant to you. I hope that in time you will be able to buy it back.

No I cannot come up with that unless I sell off some furniture. Presently, though, I live paycheck to paycheck, and only survive this because my two sons live with me also to contribute. When they move out...things will be very difficult.

Nope. Not even in my whole household. It is a miracle when we manage to save anything, we just "survive"...

My lifestyle has changed drastically over the past few years. Not for the better. Most days are very depressing. I work 14 hours a day, 3 to 4 hours are spent on the commute alone. Since the recession, although after 2 years of not working, I did find a job...but it pays 1/3 of what I was making before. I have no cable, internet at home. I do not have anyone to come in to clean every month. I live on necessity. I have not had a vacation in several years. If I had to come up with a little money, it would be because it is an emergency....and I feel as though I am giving up a little piece of my soul if I have to ask. It is pure humiliation. But thankfully, yes, I have that. For now.
