Hubby got sponsored the money for the tickets. Our son will be going with and he is super excited as Linkin Park is his favourite band. Plus it's an 8 hour road trip which I always enjoy. We will be staying with friends on a beautiful grape farm.

I can't wait!

I have seen these guys before, they put on a great show, so you are in for a treat. I would not worry about the crowds, you will find that once you are there that you become for a moment part of something bigger than yourself. In time you can focus on the music and the throngs, just become nothing more than background,

I hope you enjoy the show!
Thanks for this!

We have the tickets!!! Golden circle was sold out but we're right behind golden circle and that is good enough for me and for my son's first concert experience.

We have a tough road ahead raising the money for the fuel to get there and back but we have two months to do that.

My son has to miss a week of school, but he is delighted, of course.

My 11 year old stepdaughter wants to come. Hubby of course will let her (if we can afford her ticket) but I think it is totally inappropriate. She is too young for the content of Linkin Park.

Hubby listened to me and chatted with his daughter. She won't be coming. She'll probably join us for the road trip though. I am very pleased that hubby heard my thoughts and feelings.

Nice! The other day they played in the same town my parents live in, and my parents just happen to live a few blocks from the pavilion where they played. My mom texted me that night saying they were sitting on the porch listening. I was like... lol

They're not my favorite band, but probably in my top 10-15 so I'd definitely go see them. Have fun!
Thanks for this!

Argh, my son's school has scheduled his exams to start on the week we're leaving. Now we have to see the principal and beg him to let my son write exams some other time. I'm not sure how this will be received.

So cool that your seeing Linkin Park. That's one of my mom's favorite bands. I think it would be ok to take your 11 yr old. My first concert was when I was 3.5 yrs old. It was Bon Jovi. I've seen over 30 concerts since then. Concerts are great. Hope you have a wonderful time.
Thanks for this!

LUCKY!!! I used to be a HUGE Linkin Park fan. Still am, though after their Meteora album their quality dropped a little. Still AMAZING though!

lol My first concert was Weird Al. Great show.

Ok, so the two scheduled exams for that week are apparently just preparation workshops or something like that and not critical if my son misses them. So all is good. We leave on Monday 5 November. Looking very forward to it now. And I get to see my aging and frail grandmother who lives in the city we are going to. So that will be a treat.
