No, I used to but the sound of fireworks scare me and they seem to be getting louder every year, I live near a park so I do watch them from my window.

Well I'm working Monday and it really depends on how knackered I am and how cold it is!

My family have sort of forgotten, well they have all got things going on all at once that this year it appears to be that no one has really realized how far into the year it has got.... saying that we will probably have a bonfire even if it is a few days or weeks later, that is once they realize what time of year it is when all the other people start starting up there's on monday.

Arghhh...I miss bonfire night. Being away from my rock in the sea it slips my mind sometimes. When I was a kid Nov 5th as a huge night. Fires everywhere with parents taking the kiddies around to watch and the older kids and adults seeing who could make the biggest one. The situation has been curbed somewhat...can't have them in any old vacant space anymore. Usually it's a community bonfire. Not to say there aren't folks still having their own in more out of the way spots.
As far as I know The Rock is the only place in North America that has regularly followed this English tradition since it's inception. Pore ol' Guy...naughty boy...thanks! NF traditions are still quite linked to our British/Scots/Irish heritage. Cool guys! Enjoy! Pile'er high cousins! |

Yes, Quiz. I miss it too. This city has too many regulations now though. Fire safety crap. We have to be out of town now to have any fun.
