Just wanted to say, I had an experience tonight I wanted to share. I watched "Its a Wonderful Life" and cried after it was over. It never fails. Its just one of those movies.

Anyway, after the movie, I fell into half asleep. I could hear the tv in the background. I listened to midnight mass in and out of consciousness letting my mind take my spirit to a different place. I'm not religious and the only time I cried all year I can count on my fingers on one hand, (this includes after its a wonderful life) I recently got caught up in the "crusade to keep Christ in Christmas" because I always believed in Jesus and what he stood for.

Anyway, I cried in my sleep, in and out of consciousness during this midnight mass. I woke up by the time it was over, and they were placing baby jesus on the nativity scene.

The point is this is significant. I never had an experience like this. I felt something, in my heart.

I'm not asking anything with this thread, just saying for someone who never attended a church or picked up a bible had such a close encounter with something extraordinary and I thought I would share. I find it eye-opening

Just for the record, because some people don't know, the "X" in "Xmas" isn't a letter X. The origin of Xmas:
X (symbol for Christ, from the Greek letter chi (X), initial of Christos Christ) + -mas (in Christmas)First Known Use: 1551

So, it's not taking "Christ" out of Christmas. Except! When people who don't know that the "X" is not an X, and then use the term "Xmas," they're actually taking "Christ" out of Christmas. When I use Xmas, I do so knowing that I'm doing so without disrespecting the name of Christ.

As for "keeping Christ in Christmas" in general, I think it's right. I mean, that's why there's Christmas! I don't have a problem with secular celebrations, but I do believe people who celebrate or acknowledge Christmas should know where it comes from.

That's why I always say Xmas. I mean I know what I'm doing.

Christmas moves even the non-religious people this year

For me, this means remember why we have this legal holiday (in the USA)... there was most definitely a man called Jesus who did talk of peace--with God, with our fellow man. I'm glad He touched your heart this season.
