First off, I didn't know where else to put this, so hopefully this is an okay spot...
Anyways, let me start off by saying I Just got my first tattoo Wednesday and it's amazing. I love it so much! I'm so happy with it. It's beautiful! And I already decided on another one that I'm getting on my foot. But, I heard that's one of the most painful places to do it... How would you rate the pain there on a scale of 1 to 10? Also, I don't know how I'll handle this tattoo. I really don't want anything to happen to the foot one I'll be getting, but my job requires you wear tennis shoes and socks. I know when you get a tattoo, you're supposed to keep things from touching it, but it's not like I can take two weeks off of work just to let a tattoo heal... So, I was told to wear my shoes really loose and not to put them on until I absolutely had to and to take them off the moment I got home... Is this what I should do? Also, you can just discuss tattoos you might have or want to get. I'd like to hear others ideas and what they have already. __________________ ~ Fortune favors the brave ~

Well, first off, regarding pain. I have one tattoo, and paid a bit extra for numbing cream. It's brilliant and does just the job, total numb, zero pain. It just numbs the area to be tattooed. It's applied an hour before, and you don't feel a thing. Brilliant !
I have a small, gerbera flower (like a large daisy) by my left hip, just towards my stomach a bit. So its on my tummy, but beside my hip. I love it too. It's deep pink. I like that no one see's it unless I want them to. I always said I'd get another, they are addictive, but two at the most for me. I think too many don't look good, just my p.o.v. Less is more, and whilst one or two are attractive, a body covered in ink, is to my mind, very unattractive. Look how the gorgeous David Beckham has ink everywhere, two full sleeves and his back. Far too much. Just my opinion. The other one I'd like one day, if I ever get better and get my life on track would be a daisy chain bracelet. My daughter has one, and it's pretty. A simple chain effect around the wrist. She also has a flowery chain on her foot and upwards past her ankle, that's pretty too. Good luck with your next one, you didn't say what you have just had done, where is it ? Did it hurt ? Remember to ask for the numbing cream, though, next time. |

And that sounds really pretty! I like the idea of your next tattoo too. My next tattoo is going to be cherry blossoms. And that's the last tattoo I'm going to get. I only want two. I think too many aren't nice either. That's my personal feeling on it. I don't like how it looks. I got a celtic knot on my wrist. On a scale of 1 to 10, the pain was a 4, sometimes a 6. It was okay, though. I would do it again. __________________ ~ Fortune favors the brave ~

I have a big koi fish on my foot. It didn't really hurt, but then again, I have a high tolerance for pain. The only part that kinda hurt was when he was doing the water by my toes.
The one on my lower back hurt worse. |

Well, that's good to know. :3 Maybe it won't be that bad then.. But, as they say, no pain no gain. I will just have to suffer through it.

I have three tattoos, the first, on my back shoulder blade wasn't terrible. The coloring was more difficult to deal with than the actual outlining. The second, is relatively small across my left pectoral and also wasn't my worst, but more difficult than the back. the Third on my ribs was by far the most painful, plus it was also more intricate, adding to the pain.
Overall, anywhere on your body that has some fat or meat on it won't hurt as badly as the more bony areas, or areas that have joints. My friend got her foot done, I specifically remember her saying it wasn't terrible. Just make sure you are moisturizing it and keeping it clean, in those loose fitting shoes. Let us know how it goes! |
