Here I sit, in the coffee shop. Bought many donuts and like 2L of coffee

I went to counseling and what I have expected, has happened. My therapist told me what I already basically know about my extreme perfectionism anyways..

Now he's concerned about me since my depression is a lot more severe than anyone would have thought. Im going to see a doctor because I might have a chemical imbalance in my brain??

I already knew that.. I mean, why are people so against drugs? Everyone is so negative about it.. Some people like me obviously need something to prevent me from getting involved with a rope and a stool..

The 'adventure' will go on. I did feel a lot better by just acting out being happy instead of telling people about my problems.. At least I tried right? Coffee is a lot better than a cupachino..

I can't say that everyone is against drugs. I take them. I have friends who take them. My husband takes them. Most folks here at PC take them. And I'm talking about psychiatric drugs. We do what we need to do to get as well as we can. A few people get along without them, but it's no crime to take them at all!

Sometimes it's best not to listen to friends and family.....
Thanks for this!

I have misgivings about drugs (I think it's entirely possible that drug companies do whatever they can to sell more pills; in fact, I heard a guy quoted that told his employees that they were told that the money is in the doctors' pockets--something to that effect, anyway), and I have issues with the side effects, but I also think some of us, including me, need them. Or at least can't be off them long enough to try something new (like a nutritional treatment) because the anxiety, depression or whatever gets too bad too quickly, or one becomes addicted to the drugs.

If you need to take pills to survive, there's no shame in that. I function much better on my meds.

Sometimes it actually does help to "act happy". They say forcing yourself to smile will triiger your body to make those good feeling chemicals like seretonin. Coffee is better ya, please take care. Nothing wrong with tring those meds, see how it helps first of all.
