It's often mundane but it doesn't always have to be.
Which movies were you expecting life to be like?

Yes life is mostly mundane. In one way that is good cause it means you are dealing with life's daily struggles and happenings. In another way it may be bad for those like me who seem to find that so miserable I have to find ways to perk it up, and most times it lands me in hot water.

It's mundane unless you make it better. I personally know people who built exciting lives for themselves - sailing the Pacific for weeks at a time, growing hundreds of rare orchids, leading canoe trips in uninhabited regions, and being a research scientist in fascinating ecosystems all over the world. For me, however, it's mundane. I have failed to make something fantastic of life. (I guess we don't know the future for sure, so I should say I've failed so far.)

That's pretty much true. If you don't want a mundane life go do something... fight hunger... volunteer for a human rights NGO... join the mafia.

No it's so totally mundane it's untrue, and then you die. Well, great thanks for that, wish i had been drowned at birth to save all the wasted effort in the middle bit.

Personally I have never had a problem that couldn't be solved with money. Given enough money I could have a really good time. I have heard the saying about how money can't buy happiness, but sayings like that are so wrong.

In movies they have tricks for compressing time. You almost never see people using the bathroom in movies, either. If there is studying or going to work or paying bills in movies, they are usually only briefly mentioned. The focus is only on the interesting stuff.

If it is mundane at least I have a chance to make something out of it. I'm glad I have somewhere to live, I'm glad I don't have to steal food, I'm glad I'm not on some governments death list.

if you look up from most people's perspective including perhaps yours, yes it's mundane but i agree.. it doesn't have to be. it all depends on how you see life. you can make it interesting and exciting like in the movies however if you can't, you should reevaluate yourself. maybe life is not the problem, maybe it's you

Its like if someone gets up everyday and goes on the bus to work, that's their routine and they feel safe, and it might feel mundane

Maybe they aren't very good at driving but one day they decided to drive and its risky for them but its not mundane

I know, I know...do something different. Make a phonecall. Volunteer. Sometimes I actually tackle a new recipe( to the delight of my husband!) Then, since I have leftovers, I give the majority of the food away, which makes me feel good!

I remember the cartoon character Bugs Bunny used to say, "Life is dull as mud and not so much as a carrot to cheer me up."

Yes, there is a lot of repetitiveness to life--go to bed, eat, wash, groom, go to work, etc. Yet, during any free time we have we can choose many activities to make life less mundane. For example, I enjoy reading, going out with friends, watching TV, spending time with my family, helping others, etc. To some extent, life is what we make it.

I'm sure anxiety is a miserable feeling. I've had it occasionally. I assume anxiety cuts down on the options available to a person.
