Can you hide certain friends from your other friends?

I believe the only way to do this is to keep your friends list visible to just you. That way, your friends can only see mutual friends that they share with you. There might be a way to do it through the custom lists, but it might just be easier to flip the visiblity of your friends list to "only me."
Thanks for this!

Hmm.. I know not much about these things! I shamefully admit that I checked on my husbands messages because he's been making a lot of new female friends on there and I'm as paranoid as they come. I noticed another new one and went on his friends list to see if I could look on her profile, she wasn't there. I then logged into my account to see if I could search her but couldn't find her, so thinking perhaps she has seen he's married and blocked me, I logged into my sons account and searched her but again no joy. It's really weird. I don't get how her profile pic could be on his messages but yet she seems non existent even if I search from his account.
So I wondered if he could hide specific people from his friends list from his other friends without hiding the lot.
I really need to stop being such a paranoid wally!
