80's Pop...Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Hall & Oats, etc. Oh....and the ever present "Weird Al". He's still a large part of my listening pleasure.

I was a teen in the late 60's early 70's and LOVED hard rock music along with a number of other music as well, but my first love was hard rock. The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Dylan, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Santana, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf, and the list goes on and on...lol.

Hey Sabby! 70s teen mostly...my lineup included all you listed. Eternal yet that stuff. I did deviate when the 80s new music scene became so invasive what with th' tee-vee video birth and all. But as a teen? All that stuff...Floyd, asst psychedelia...early 'metal' Sabbath, Deep Purple....oh yeah...hahaha...Zappa! Neil Young...oh god...my teens were spent in the days of disco at it's height. No thanks...the 60s in particular still provided and I welcomed. Led Zep #1 and 2?...ohhh yeah. Thank-you's due...to all my buddies older siblings.
Thanks for this!

I loved (and still love) comedy and novelty music by people like "Weird Al" Yankovic. I also loved Menudo, my No.1 favorite group back then. That's right, go ahead, make fun of me. I liked Menudo, so there! I loved and still love oldies music from the 50's on up.

I was at Woodstock 1969---so, all of that. Sam Cooke, Motown in general.
Beatles, Stones, Dylan, Phil Ochs, Traffic, Jeff Beck, Airplane, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, (saw the Doors, wasn't huge fan for some reason), Janis Ian, Bonnie Raitt, Carol King, Blues Project, Simon & Garfunkel, Ike n Tina Turner, old blues, Lovin' Spoonful, Rascals, Pete Seeger, Pentangle, Byrds, Yardbirds, Santana, Steve Goodman, Arlo Guthrie, BeeGees, Manhattan Transfer, The Band, Fugs, Zappa, Dave Bromberg, Steve Winwood, Buffy St. Marie, Odetta, Laura Nyro, Dave Van Ronk, Led Zepplin, Johnny Winter, John Prine, Cream, Judy Collins, Moody Blues, ....so many more...Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, Animals, The Who, my head begins to spin, must be leaving out someone important, like roy orbison, or Bonnie Raitt, I listen to (some, like John Prine still at it...)some now and again, mood dependent.
Teenager, ...I used to ride my bike with the transistor radio hanging from the handlebar...heard Eight Days A Week for the first time while riding with my best friend...what a great day that was... my radio was cool, had a leather cover that snapped...I can see it lying in the sand at the beach summers as I write...(& when I got my Hi Fi-----wow) I think the first record I bought was a Peter Paul and Mary, ...I remember my best friend's older brother was skeptical about the Stones, made fun of my new Between The Buttons album, but was listening himself within days...I hope I didn't leave out the Lovin Spoonful...

I have three older siblings so I was also in to some of the 70's stuff. I particularly like Queen and Styx, and as I've gotten older, I've gotten more in to "hard" stuff, Quiet Riot, AC/DC, Van Halen, Twisted Sister.

Early youth (I'm talkin' preteens): The Monkees, The Beatles, Bread, some softer rock
Teens: (because I had an older brother with an excellent ear, and older cousins & friends) Just about everything rock. Including bands like The Moody Blues and The Allman Brothers and Roxy Music. Tripped into Bowie and T-Rex very early on, and so afterward always had a taste for alternative. Even did the serious punk thing for awhile.

hahaha, "serious punk".

Sorry to buck the trend, but never enjoyed disco much at all. Nor musicals nor ((shudder!!)) boy bands.

All the above plus Herman's Hermits, Snoopy VS the red Barron(early, early teens), Sonny & Cher, The penguins-Earth Angel, Who ever did the Coconut song, & The candy Man, & for some reason I liked Renaissance music, Scottish bag pipes & Perry Como too. I think some of it was due to two older sisters both were in the marching band, all of us had to play an instrument--mine was the gutar.... so no band for me! My parents were used to the rock & roll thanks to my sisters so it was the Scottish music that drove them nuts. Mostly listened to radio but we had a lot of 45's too. Wish I still had them.

Now...yeah, now is a very different story.

Yeah, some of those 45's would be cool to have again. I'm with you, sidestepper.
