Classic 1956? Ford in the shopping center today. I left a note on the windshield with a smiley face! This one was restored to perfection. You don't see chrome like that nowadays! Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the pic. (I haven't figured out how to upload larger pictures!)

When I was 17 yo my step dad bought me a 1964 Mustang 4 speed cream with a convertible I had it 2 weeks and he decided to sell it cause he could make $$ and it was to powerful he said. It was in sweet shape I miss it now as he replaced it with a 1970 oldsmobile 88, remember those boats.

My grandfather had a lovely 1955 Chevy that he had babied, but sold for a pittance! I wish I had that beauty! It was burgundy and white, just like this one!

Very nice pic there. There is a lot of nostaglia that surrounds old cars like these. Keep in mind that these cars are restored to a level of finish that thanks to modern fabrication is actually better that they were when they rolled out of the factory.

I would not mind driving one around for a day, but owning one, not really. In the end drum brakes, live axle suspensions, slowwwww transmissions, and a lack of features would get tiresome quickly after the novelty wears off. Also these cars are unsafe by modern standards. You are far more likely to get seriously injured or killed in one these than even the cheapest modern econobox if you happen to have a wreck.

When my parents married in 1955 they bought a car similar to this but plainer - no fancy roof or fender skirts. It was purple! They sold it to a relative who drove it for years and who then sold it to a teenager on our block who wrecked it in less than a week! The car may look good but, in truth, the handling was horrific! The brakes were especially bad.
