Today has been a relatively productive day because I actually left my house to socialize with other people. Normally I try not to do this because 1) it was family I had to see and 2) I'm a one best friend type of person. Typically that results in my making plans to chill with a friend and then cancelling the day off. I know that's what will happen yet I continue to do it. I just get anxious about socializing even with my dearest of friends. Unless they show up unannounced and drag me out, I guess I just don't want a choice in the matter. It's a work in progress as I went to the movies with one of my favorite coworkers who is certainly a good friend of mine. Fast and the Furious 6 is brilliant by the way. Aside from visiting 2 different family member's houses today I also did a load of laundry before work. All of that happened within three hours of my shift starting. I usually have a counter of when my shift starts that I start at six hours. Seriously. I don't like to leave my house within those six hours because I'm like "I have work in six hours, I'll be late" even though it's only 15 minutes away.

Good on you for taking action. Sometimes that's the hardest thing to do. In my experience, anyway.
And...welcome to PC. ![]()

Potentially Absent,
Good job! I too avoid interacting with people and become anxious about socializing. What motivated you? |

My grandmother needed peanuts for her squirrels and my sister needed her carpet shampoo vacuum back. Typically I worry about getting to work on time because I was quite often relying on public transportation. But as I just got my license in Feb, I have a car now so I don't need to stress out so much. Six hours is pretty ridiculous to worry about getting to work.
