Hello there,
I am a reading fanatic and am on the hunt for a good book. So any suggestions you have, lay 'em on me! -laughs- I especially love classics, so I'll recommend a few books of my own:

"The Hunchback of Notre Dame" by Victor Hugo
"The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger
"Dracula" by Bram Stoker
"The Picture of Dorian Grey" by Oscar Wilde

I'm looking forward to getting some replies!

Sincerely,
Michaela M.

Well, these may not be classics but the reads are excellent. I can recommend anything by Diane Chamberlain and Jodi Picoult

I suggest you join our Books, books, books social group. We're always recommending certain books. Just click on the words "social group" under the brown section at the top of the first page here and look for the group!

Hi Michaela,

I also always need suggestions, I don't like just going and browsing the library and then finding out later I'm not that into the book. Reading is pretty much what I do to keep my mind off things.

A few suggestions:
Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult (an Amish mystery- excellent!)
Anything by Liam Hearn
Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto

My recommendation is any thing by Jasper Fforde. His Shades of Grey blew me away. He is a British author who mixes the genres of fantasy, mystery, literature & humor.

Welcome to the Jasper Fforde Website

I'm a huge classics fan too! Especially Charles Dickens (Bleak House, Little Dorrit, David Copperfield...)! But one that I just read that really got to me was George Gissing's The Odd Women. Some others I've enjoyed:

Adam Bede by George Eliot
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
Waiting for the Barbarians by J. M. Coetzee

Let us know what you end up starting with!
