Have any of you had a chance to check out Pinterest.com ?

Looks useless, right?
That is what I thought at first.
But then I thought of all the possibilities: Vision boards, dream boards, mood boards..

So there is a feature where a member of Pinterest could create a pinboard and make it Secret. What this means is, only invited members can join or view this board.

This gave me the idea that we could create a project, so to speak. An ongoing project of boards that contain images of inspiration, comfort, lightheartedness, words of support, and could help us to get through the day.

What do you guys think?

I like the idea a lot, my Pinitrest is connected with my facebook though, I don't know how to make a secret board just for psychcentral.

I don't know much about it, nobody repins my pins, and its just me on there so I lost interest in it.

But if you know of a way we could do it, I would love to be part of it

it probably would not be very secret....the way pinterest works is matching your profile, interests and things you upload/pin to every other members accounts......

example someone types the word apple. then pinterest pulls up every account that matches the word apple...it may be an apple containing recipe, or an apple containing cartoon, picture what ever..

last night I was looking for coffee cake..I got thousands of results where pinterest membbers put in their profiles they like coffee, pictures of all kinds of cofffee, recipes containing the ingredient coffee and any photos/images of coffee that any pinterest member posted.

To me pinterest is like having a new search engine like google. its not very secret/private and is searchable by anyone who uses pinterest or any search engine like google, bing....

if you are looking for something that can be "secret" psych central does have social groups...you can start your own social group by clicking at the top of the page where it says .....social groups... then you fill in the information about your social group and whether its a public group (where anyone can see, it/join it and post in it or whether its a private/invitation only group which no one will be able to see the content until the owner of the group lets them in. in the social groups you can post any thing you want images, posts, recipes what ever...

If people are concerned about privacy, they can go to pinterest.com, create a profile (without linking it to any social networks), create a fake name, then PM me or post here what their names are. Then I will be able to add you.

If that doesn't bother you, you can just create a profile using your email address, and let me know.

So far, I have found countless boards with positive thinking, cheerful messages, beautiful colors, quotes, food, anything you can think of, that can uplift your spirit and support you visually during a hard time.
