Does Kraft's 'Zesty' print ad go too far?

What can I say! Guess I'm enjoying commercials lately....

And to think at one time I hated commercials...

Since its just salad dressing, IMO yes this is going to far. This is something I would see in Cosmopolitan for one of their sex articles. Guess the company thinks sex sells dressing but that's not the motivator for me in these hard economic times - I look for taste preference and a good price.

I feel if this was a woman doing this, there would be more fuss. Since magazines are all over in waiting areas, not sure this would be fine for a little kid to see lol.

I think the members of 1 million women (a web group created to protect children from whatever this deem "unwholesome") got ahold of this and are complaining about this loudly.

Personally, I think it's so funny!

I could not look at the link Lightbulb7Seven posted. My flash player is messed up... But am thinking it is the same commercial I've seen on tv and all it was "that I remember" is a woman thinking/seeing 2 sexy men clean her kitchen sink drain?

ANYway... The Kraft Zesty ads are "silly".. Not sure why the pic I posted makes me smile... the other ads didn't make me smile at at all.... lol

Now for me, the Pamela Anderson bikini ad that was banned in the UK is awful....that one grosses me out big time.. ....

guess zesty salad dressing and liquid plumr's sales were down.. lol wonder if sales are better now..

It's about time they used sexy men to sell stuff! I'm tired of all these commercials with sexy women.

Sex is used to sell a lot of things that have nothing to do with sex!

Gay guys buy salad dressing too. Just sayin'.
The salad dressing ad seems pretty stupid, but doesn't actually bother me. I hate the liquid plumr ad though, because it's really making fun of the woman when you think about it. They show her as kinda pathetic for fantasizing...well, I think I better shut up there.

I'm speaking about the plumber commercial here:^^^

I agree........this is just not okay on prime time as a tv commercial.. it should be a spoof commercial on an adult porn channel or a Premium channel comedy show.

i'm no prude either, but that just went too far.
Thanks for this!

The salad dressing is by the guy's left elbow. Companies are trying to sell salad dressings as things for toppings other than salad especially Kraft I find. I think the meat is what they are topping in this add.

It will take more than that. Dressing/undressing? I didn't think most people liked puns.
But anyway, what is the stuff on the cutting board????

Oh yeah... lets analyze the symbolism lol. Reminds me of Burt Reynolds cover of... Cosmopolitan? He used to joke that he wasn't using his hand to cover up... he was using his whole damned arm

I don't see what the big deal is. Advertisers have been using almost naked pictures of women to sell all sorts of stuff for years. What's the difference if the mostly naked body is male or female?

Radio Flyer, I didn't think it was all that racy either. OK, maybe some symbolism of the drain snake going into the pipe and being drawn back out? Mainly I thought the woman simpering over two sort good looking guys was stupid and demeaning to women.

Sigh. Oh you innocents. It's a pretty obvious reference to a woman having multiple simultaneous partners below the equator.

honestly that is what I think of when I see something like this (not being judgmental, just that seems like more of a target audience for this type of advertising). I don't think it would influence a woman, although I admit I could be wrong, it just seems silly and over the top to me, I think it might even be disturbing to a kid. in any case I don't think it should be for a general audience.

Agree. I think we don't remember what it was like to hear suggestive talk on tv when we were young, and now kids are exposed to it all the time as if it doesn't affect them. Idk.
