used to use windows media player... but i can't seem to now.

for some reason, windows media player has vanished off my computer, and i can not reinstall it.

so please suggest me a good cd ripper- prefferably a free one

Sorry, don't know anything about Windoze anymore - use only Linux. Now is you have a hardware issue (not drivers, actually device issues)...
