Everyone has dreams that they want to follow. Of course, some of us are still young and would love to be able to go after them each day. Have you set any goals for the future? Any place you would like to visit? Any dream jobs you have in mind? Anything?
Thanks for this!

Heather, I'm very happy that you want to go back to college and finish your education. And write a book? That's amazing. In all honesty, writing a book can be difficult. I've tried to write myself a novel, but I stopped short because I had writer's block. I did not know where to go from there. I was hoping that as I go along I was able to find my way. I didn't, unfortunately.

My ultimate dream is not a reality, to become an actress :P So, other than that find a good job in field in PR, have a kid and adopt one, and buy a very pretty Victorian house

my dream is to become the best person I can be. My goals are to alter some of the thought patterns I have, improve myself, change people's lives, and ensure the future's progress.

I see a trend for wanting to go back to college and get a degree, but let's turn the tables...what have we been doing or will do in order to achieve our goals?

I'm taking a few classes in the fall, all of them fall under the General Ed category.

my goal is to not let people get to me and if they will, i'm just going to shrug it off. Ignore them. No one can make me feel inferior without my consent.

1. Go back to school in Jan. & finish retraining as a forensic accountant.
2. Get a job again, hopefully in forensics.
3. Move out of transitional housing into my own place again.

When all that's accomplished, I'm getting a cat.

I think I'm a whole bunch older than many of you. My major goal is preparing for retirement in six years.

Last year, I was following a dream to get a PhD in Psychology Counseling. But, that went on hold, due to the fact of what I have for student loans now, and what the cap is, and lack of grant money etc. Was preparing for the GMAT, and had my thesis all ready lined up. Had a school lined up, one in the Bigger City, that catered to people like myself, going back to school, later in life--with night classes, on-line, etc. My thesis, was going to combine my Management Degree with Psychology--hmmm. Fafsa came back, but reality bites.

That dream is scrapped.

NOW, something is changing at work. I have a new goal. I found a school, it will be an Associates Degree(on top of my Bachelors). In Nutrition. The Director, in my town, told me, that whomever takes over her job, in the future, may need to be a certified, licensed Nutritionist.

Goal: Rise the Ranks, in the Town's Food and Nutrition Program. Become a licensed Nutritionist. And, even with that, I may be able to teach some nutrition courses along the way. I am path for a pension retirement in my Town, but somewhere along the way, I need just a few more credits of W2 employment to qualify for SSA retirement benefits. ((Ahhh, the joys of government work through the years))

That's my Goal! Becoming a Nutritionist. Far cry from the days in High School, where I thought I was going to go on and become an Accountant, eh?

OK, I mentioned work goals, I didn't mention the fun goals.

One thing, I so want to do?! I'd love to be a biker babe for just one day! Riding on the back of a chopper with some dude, that would be great! Maybe, with the people I know, I could be an honorary Angel for a day

I'd love to travel to Russia! There's a couple historical sites, I'd love to visit.

In the next couple of years, the boys' father and I are discussing a trip to Hershey PA. I am waiting until ALL the boys are Tall enough to ride every single ride. Will probably use a campsite, too. Their dad and myself, still share a tent that was a wedding gift from my grandmother's 'baby' sister.

AND, I promised my oldest a trip to Hell's Canyon!! I say, when my youngest is 12. White Water Rafting!! In Hell's Canyon!! YEAH!!!!!

I still want to see Old Faithful! The Islands in the Caribbean, would be fantastic. San Juan or Santo Domingo, family and friends say those cities are must sees!! If I ever travel to Latin America, I want to visit, less tourist sites and more street vendors and just be amongst 'townies', so to speak!

Ireland and Scotland are Must sees!! And Italy!! I want to go shopping in Milan--I can wear designer sizes now!! I lost weight over the past couple years and it's been staying off!! They say, when you lose weight and keep it off, before 40, it's less hard to work off!! I'd love to fight the crowds on the clearance racks--that's how local culture works!

If I ever wanted to see Kenya, I'm sure my neighbor and the little girl I sit, could set me up with family and friends that could help be tour guides and family is usually hospitable, if that makes sense! I wouldn't mind going to the Serengeti!

Mine is to buy a house. I know it's a typical thing, but I've made a savings account I don't touch, and that I actually get paid interest for each month for putting money in, I try to limit my spending as much as I can, and I'm pushing myself to work this new job I am struggling hugely with because of my depression and anxiety. Amongst all the other things I've been doing to get this. I've never been as determined to do something as I am about this. And being someone who has a bit of a problem with spending money when I'm depressed, it's not easy at all.
