Hi all! Just wanting to get to know some of ya!
How long have you been here? What do you like/dislike about it? I've been here maybe a month and I like the non-judgement environment so far. I used to get on yahoo answers for support but I could never ask a single question without being judged, so I do not use y answers anmore. |

I have been here since June 26, 2012. I like the synergism created from people working in supportive atmosphere. I like the anonymity.
There is minimal trolling or flaming. Fire extinguishing moderators and administrators keep it under control and to a minimal. ![]() Sometimes, having a volunteer position is not the most comfortable situation. Those momentd of uncomfortableness I blame on my paranoid tendency, so I guess there's nothing I dislike. ![]()

I have been a member of PC since 9/19/09. Time has flown by!!
My general experience at PC has been rather positive. I've had a few times over the years that I felt hurt or disliked because I didn't always get dozens of responses to my posts ~ I have a bad habit of taking that very personally. (I'm hypersensitive) Knowing that now, my logical side can usually make me a little more reasonable & ease the hurt feelings a lot. PC is truly the most supportive and kind site that I've ever taken any part of. I appreciate that! ![]()

Joining PC is one of the best decisions I've made regarding online activity. When I contribute, I feel listened to and learn from other people's responses. I post a lot in the psychotherapy forum - it's very comforting seeing how others have therapy and following their journey.
Take care ![]() |

I've been here for almost 8 years (I've had two user names).
I have always felt at home and supported, even though sometimes posts don't get a lot of responses, but I understand that is just the way forums work.

I've been on the boards DocJohn has created since there have been such boards (mid-90's). They're the best of their kind on the Internet, ever.

I like that it's a springboard for information and discussion about what's happening in the Mental Health Community.
There are several things i dislike about the Forum - some of a more practical nature, others more personal. The propensity for contention being an example. I think that's as far as i need to explain. I hope you continue to find this place useful. |

Thanks for all the feedback. I agree with all of you about the positives to this site. One more I thought of was that there are forums that are not just all mental Health.

I like this online community. People are friendly.
This is my second time here. I first joined in April 2012. Eight months later, I left for personal reasons and class. After a four month break, I returned with boundaries. So far they are working. |

I like this community so far. The people here are very relatable, unlike the ones I meet in real life. They're like oh well when they hear of your personal life. Jerks.
I've been here for a couple of months now and so far I think it's a good forum because people get to post, learn, experience, help, and love others. |

Comparatively, this place is a much broader spectrum of topics. If you want to be OT(off-topic) for a bit, there's a place for that. If you want to discuss specific things, there's a place for that. I like the V-board/BBCode format of this place. The longer term place was more a board that sent directly to e-mail. And, honestly, this place, if you need to quote and then scroll up on the same thread, it's much easier and visible to see what the context of discussion, when it slightly veers is. I like that there are numerous moderators, and that the Admin is readily available, as well. In case there are any slights of feelings, things seem handled quickly and without much chaos and er, um, mayhem, so to speak. Not, that I've really witnessed that, much, at all, here! It is an active community, and it doesn't seem like people's posts get ignored, meaning, you can see the number of replies to a post, and I hardly ever see 0's listed, lest it be a rather fresh posting. Yeah, yahoo, even under answers; how to say, ever noticed that comments under articles, etc, seem under-moderated, if moderated, at all??? And I agree with you, about judgment. |

How long have you been here?
Since February. What do you like/dislike about it? I like being able to communicate with other people in therapy - a few of my friends know I have a T, but I would never discuss the workings of my therapy or hash out issues about transference or whatever. I've really appreciated the very good, helpful and caring advice I've had from people on this board when going through ruptures with my T. And I like the stuff we talk about, especially on the psychotherapy board. I don't dislike anything really, except I wish I knew when people had hugged me as I don't always think to go back and look at my posts. |

I've been here for a few days (maybe a week?) and I love it. I agree with someone when they said posts don't get a lot of responses all the time, but i'm okay with that. I like that everyone does their best not to judge and I feel comfortable sharing bits and pieces of myself with complete strangers.

Hi, it's nice to meet you
![]() I don't recall how long I've been here but as soon as this post is published you can look under my name and see. I like the interaction with my friends here. I don't like the pettiness and cliquish behavior I sometimes see here. Some of it is kind of amusing though e.g. people who use the thank button as a retaliatory instrument ![]() This must be very nice compared to yahoo comments/answers. People on Yahoo and Youtube can be very insulting and obnoxious. Quote:

I've been here since January of 2013. I've never joined an online support forum before, but I'm glad I found this one. The atmosphere here is very supportive and understanding. The mods are accessible. The chats are helpful. There forums covers a broad spectrum. And I like the anonymity. So far my experience has been great and it encourages me to log in almost every day

Don't let it bother you when that happens. It is pretty funny (and a bit pathetic) when you think about it and... when people do that it says a lot more about them than about you.

Thanks. I am trying not to let this issue bother me. The incident is still fresh in my mind.

Just an FYI for everyone here -
You are allowed to not always like everyone you meet online. You are allowed to not always like what you read online. You are allowed to have differing opinions. BUT Psych Central is for mutual support and caring. So a Q&A about your experiences here isn't exactly supportive, and easily goes off topic and against our Community Guidelines. Debates, arguments, and discussing other members is also against our Community Guidelines. Thanks for your cooperation!
