Why are moths attracted to light? A question I asked myself at quarter past three in the morning. Did a bit of research, because - little secret - I kinda dig moths. Apparently nobody has any concrete evidence to explain it, but there are some theories of this "phenomenon". One such theory, is that they use the moon for navigation, so the lights confuse them. Oddly, moths apparently ignore incandescent lights - they don't think much of yellow light, but rather like white light. Interesting stuff, I think.
