Some people here know that tigers are special to me for whatever reason. Knowing that they are losing and will eventually lose their habitat is heartbreaking.
Knowing they are hunted because some people think their reproductive glands provide some beneficial health effect is infuriating.
Knowing they are hunted for sport... and in a manner which gives them no chance at escape, gives me an anger that I don't know what to do with.
I would love to be able to afford to book a hunt. The tiger would be perfectly safe. Can't say the same about the guides and others.

Thank you for the links. I didn't know that they were hunted for sport..that is disgusting. I read that Putin introduced tougher punishments for poaching tigers, but the punishments are only of monetary nature. I wished animal rights would become more important. When people are going to realize the damage they have done to the eco system it's going to be already to late. Thankfully, there are also people working to protect the tigers. Here is a very good interview with a tiger conservationist in India, which explains what is going on. ( do not watch if you are sensitive..it shows things made out of tigers)

I don't know if you have watched the "fatal attractions" series on the discovery channel but there was one episode on a guy living in Arizona and his special friendship with a tiger. .
here is a part (Fatal Attractions: Living With a Bengal Tiger : Video : Animal Planet)

I am in awe of Tigers, well I love all animals but yes they are divine. I get tears of joy when I see them on tv. I cant understand why or how they dont have the same effect on the hunters. These soul less btards need to be hunted themselves. Heres a link to fantastic program recently aired in UK. The Russian rangers are wonderful, god bless em......

I cant find the 1st episode sorry..maybe u will be able to?

George, I really understand how you feel. For me, it's more than tigers. Elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinoceroses, and so many others are hunted for the very reasons you mentioned and more. People think their horns, tusks, or other parts of their body can be ground down or mixed into a potion that will cure all kinds of ills (which is usually not true, if ever) and increase their libidos. It sickens me when I see pics (which I try to avoid) of hunters smiling proudly in pictures next to their dead prey. What's saddest of all is when I see children smiling after making a kill.

I love tigers, and other big cats as well. Also, like Maven says, so many other animals. Hunting for sport is CRUEL and barbaric.

I also hate how WE HUMANS are intruding more and more on the natural habitat of animals like mountain lions. Developing fancy homes in the hillsides and canyons, knowing the risks and knowing that it is shared with those exquisite creatures. Then, people KILL those cougars if they kill livestock, people, or pets. I don't want to see them killed, BUT the wildlife like cougars were there long before people were. It's their territory.

I feel horrible for the animals whose habitats we destroy, all for our own desires. What will happen when we destroy all the forests, jungles and soil? To them, and to us? I would love a million-dollar home, but I don't want it put where the land would have to be dug up and trees chopped down. Not that I could afford one, anyway.

Every extra person puts a burden on the world's natural places. To give back to nature, just don't have kids.
