Hi All,

Husband heard about a St. Bernard that was going to be put to sleep, if someone didn't take the dog. She has been kept in the person's back yard tied to a tree, and has had no real attention. We picked up Missy Moo a week ago Friday. She is only 10 mos. old, and is as big as my 3-year old St. Bernard, Baby Girl. Baby Girl LOVES having a sister!!!! The rest of my brood are acting like, "Why did you have to bring her home?"

She likes to chew on just about everything: elbows, arms, ears mine and the other dogs. She is high energy.

Hope you all have a good week, and will share any funny pet stories that you have.

EJ

My brother took a dog once from someone who was abusing it...he just walked up in the backyard, untied it and took it...the owner came out and my brother said, "Don't you say a word! I have watched how you treated this animal and I am taking it away from you!" The owner turned and went back inside and never said a word...lol...My brother had Angel for about 5 years and she was a sweetheart!!!A red doberman...

My family banned me from going to the animal shelter. I used to go there a lot and would always get a little "something" that I took home... WE've had oh so many cats and strange animals.

This makes me think about the dwarf hamsters I had... they were the qutest ever. I felt too bad keeping them in a cage, so they lived freely in my bedroom (gross, I know) I had a cerpet with white and blue blocks and they ate all the blue blocks from my carpet! I later found all the carpet remains in shoes I don't wear that often... apparently that was their bed... and bathroom... I had to get rid of them though, but they were too qute!

I had a totally black chow that I rescued from an abusive next door neighbor. Bois (Bo) was a big 'ol sweet teddy bear...he died of old age after he was with us for about seven years. I miss him!

EJ, and all of you...Such great stories about pets needing home and attention. I'm glad the St. Bernard is in a good environment now! I too am a pet-rescuer, and have actually paid for a neglected dog, tied to a short tangled chain without water, took him to the vet for care, and then found him a loving home.
Currently, I have four pets in my home....a female Samoyed mix named Kelley, and three cats. I rescued Kelley just before she was to be taken back to the Lex., KY pound by my daughter's roommate several years ago. She is a loving and sweet friend!

well here is a long one k around feb of 04 this orange kitty showed up in our neighborhood no one knew where he came from or if he had a home we thought this because he kept trying to run into everyone's home aww well i figured he is so sweet he must be lost so i called animal control and they came and took him i told them that if by any chance he was a stray to find him a home and if they could not i would take him in so they took my name and request down i followed up on him for ten days to see if the owners found him nothing later they told me he was unadoptable that he was aggresive which ridiculous because he has always been sweet so they said he would be eutanized i would not have that stuck in my head the an innocent animal would die because of me so i went there and adopted him i was the only one allowed too because of my earlier request he has been our pet ever since he is an outdoor cat he only comes in to eat then he leaves but i drag his butt when the weater is bad needless to say he is the happiest kitty i know / i also have a papitzu who howls like a wolf when he wants a treat lol he also gives u high five

Chipper and Sky Jr are our pet therapy birds, I have hand fed them both and taken complete care of them, but who do they favor, my hubby they sit at his feet for hours , chipper has learned how to climb up Gary's pant leg and sits on his knee spreading his wings out and chirpping real loud as if to say look at me I climbed a mountain

about 12 years ago I was looking for a dog.I checked several spca's and one had one that sounded what I wanted. My BF said just one now, Pet PostsOf course only one I replied. Well I got there and out trips this little Lhasa Apso looking like it had just came from the beauty parlor. He was beautiful. then right beside me in the next cage was this tiny dirty little poodle mix. She had pus in her eyes and she was so dirty. Her little paws were coming throught the bars just begging for attention Well I hemmed and hawed and hemmed and hawed and couldn't make a decision. I went for a walk to clear my head. I came back you quessed it I got them both. I named them Rough and Ready.
