Bear with me, 'k? Since I left my parents' house at 18, I've lived in apartments, or in other people's houses, so I know nothing about this stuff!

I'm getting ready to move to a duplex. I will NOT get out of the nice warm car in the cold and snow and ice that occurs in western Wisconsin from October to May just to open the stinking garage door.

Where does one buy a garage door opener? I mean, can you walk into Home Depot or something and buy it off the shelf? (I've never spent any time in those places, either. My BIL bought all my tools!) Are they hard to install? Are they expensive? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yeah, I don't know how I got to be this age without knowing this stuff, either, but such is life!

Oh you won't be able to install one yourself then... try SEARS they will also install it, put it on time payment and give you a warranty a stupid home improvement question

Automatic door openers are great! Good wishes

Thanks, Sky. My sis and BIL will be helping me move, and he's pretty handy -- he puts up all my shelving and does minor fixes for me every time I move -- maybe he could handle it? I dunno. My dad tried to do ours when I was a kid and it never did work right!

I just want to get out of here! Sooner rather than later! LOL

I hear ya (((hugs))) well My sister did hers, but she had a tough time of it. (She also built her own patio complete with poured concrete flooring and hurricane coding to contend with though.)
