My old HVAC unit (heat, ventilation and air conditioning) died its final death in March of 2012. I had to install a new HVAC unit that cost well over $5000. I also joined "the club" with the business that did the installation which is supposed to speed up how quickly they come for a service visit; my problem is moved ahead of all the non-club members and I get a discount on some services. I am still under warranty right now.

So in the summer I had to have three different people come to fix when my AC quit working. The coil froze up and when it thawed it dripped water onto my circuit board which of course fried the circuit board. I mentioned to the first guy that seemed like a bad design but he was just a tech so he just put new things in and my AC was working again. For a whole four hours.

So I called the business and again said this seems like a bad design and the office girl said the business owner (who is an electrician) talked to the techs about my problem. So tech #2 again puts the circuit board beneath the coil (again). That worked for about two weeks and again the AC stopped working. Wanna guess what was wrong? Yep, the circuit board was wet and shorted out. So when tech #3 came to do a diagnostic visit I again said this seems to be a bad design and perhaps we should order my circuit boards by the dozen as nobody is being proactive to prevent the recurrence of my wet circuit board. I was happy that the third technician understood and agreed with me and he said he would place the circuit board on the side wall of the air handler to protect it.

All is fine with AC for the next two months. Now it is 45 degrees F outside so I turn the unit to heat. The unit fails and it is not heating the house. Not at all.

This has really got to stop. Over $5000 and the unit is unreliable.

Ohh, that sounds really frustrating. I'm sorry. I'd be mad too. I really hope you get it fixed quickly and that this is the end of your problems.
