Out of curiosity: Husband and I were just talking about this. I've heard it said that people tend not to like songs with their names in the title, possibly because they get the song thrown at them all their lives. For example, as a Michael, he absolutely hates that old song about rowing the boat ashore. My childhood name (I legally changed it later) was Robin. I can think of three, right off the top. "Rockin' Robin," "Fly, Robin, Fly," and "When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob-bob-bobbin' Along." All three of those songs make me absolutely ill. On the other hand, my aunt Donna likes the Ritchie Valens song. If there is a song with your name in the title, do you like it or hate it?

My name is a color and I really do wonder how many songs have "Grey" in them haha my mom has a name that has been used in songs and it drives her mad. Always has.

or maybe it's because i wasn't around during that particular time lol

Don't think I've seen a song with Pfrog in the title.

I have heard some songs that do mention Pfrogs though.

Ribbit!

Thanks for this!

"A little bit of Sandra in the sun". I hate that song because first of all I have pop mainstream music and secondly it reminds me of a job I hated where they played this awful pop music station that played the same music over and over. lol

My name is very common and in a lot of songs. That means even Jimi Hendrix has sung about me. How cool.

I don't know of any songs with my "real" name in the title. Can't think of any about lizards either.

Ditto. My name is too odd to have a song about it. But I can understand how people constantly associating it with a familiar song containing the same word would get irritating after awhile.

No songs I can think of but my formal first name is a Hitchcock movie.
My nickname is the same as the comic/movie Tank Girl.

There is a very popular song with my real name in it and in the title but it is old now and nobody really mentions it. But I got teased with it often enough when I was younger.

Never heard any with my name. My sisters do tho, and they don't like it either. I think it would be awkward and uncomfortable.

Are you supposed to smile, laugh, blush, or break into dance on the spot? Should you just sing one back to them with their own name in it? I am not sure what you are supposed to do with that...

I don't know of any songs with my name in the title, even though I have a common name. Odd, really, I googled it and it only came up with "Cary Lynn Graves".

Weird.

My real name is a song by Looking Glass... anytime I meet anyone my parents' ages I get sung to... on top of that my middle name is a George Michael's song so I also get that one a lot! I don't mind though... I like my name.

My name is Sandra and I used to work at IHOP. My manager was from West Virginia and talked with a very southern drawl. She used to call me all the time "Sandra Dee". Then she would say "look at me I'm Sandra Dee". I actually liked it because i think it meant she liked me.
