I see both, even when I cover everyting except her foot. She turns one way for a while, then is flips so she's goingg the other direction. Does that mean I'm equally right and left brained or that I'm so mixed up I can't tell left from right?

Look at this Youtube clip. In the middle you have the ambiguous dancer. The one on the left has some cues added so you make her spin in one direction. The one on the right the same, but in the opposite direction.

Now do this. Cover the one on the left with your hand. Now the one that is only a shadow will spin in the same direction as the right one. Cover the right one. Now the middle one will spin in the same direction as the left one.

Clever huh?

I can only see her moving clockwise which is strange because I consider myself a little more left-brained.

I did that, my right thumb has always been on top. I'm very much right handed. I'm also seem to use my left side of the brain more. I thought this was pretty accurate to have the dominant hand on top?

Saw right off the bat that she's spinning clockwise.

Suppose I'm right brained?

Interesting.

Random programming so that she spins & changes direction at random times so there isn't a specific loop timing....but there are random generator that can make things change at random times (computer programmer in my previous life).

I watch & I can see the points of transition between clockwise & counter-clockwise.......randomly it can stay in one direction long enough that's all one sees in the time they are looking at it.

I don't believe that this test proves anything about right or left brained people IMO

It doesn't change. The loop is exactly the same every time. The only thing that changes is how you see her.

Instantly saw that it was spinning right, and I can't see how something can spin more than one way, at the same time - mindf**k! - but then, I guess it's an optical illusion?

Cool thread.

EDIT:

OMG! Something just clicked, and I could easily see her spinning left, and then right, and so on! That's so mental, but I love it. Does that mean I has a good, healthy brain? xD

There are a lot of things to make her change directions. I look away so I just see her from the corner of my eye, think what the other way around will look like, she changes and then I can look straight at her again.
