For those of you that "went with me" to David's annual block/birthday party of Lucas... oh, my! The block party!

Pic will be in the gallery as soon as I finish the post. The highlights and sources of hilarity: my ex was there as usual, weight at the very least, 50 lbs more than he did last year. He litteraly rolls from place to place now. The block party! The conversation was about pets at one point because his step-daughter was there with a Chi-Chi in a stroller, no less!! So... the conversation moved to spoiled animals, cremating 22 yr old cats and keeping their ashes on the mantel, etc. The block party! I mentioned The Dog Whisperer as a good source of training for a dog and from the "horses's ***'s mouth" comes "I have as much regard for the Dog Whisperer as I do for the Ghost Whisperer. She talks to DEAD people? They're DEAD, right? How do you talk to them? The block party! The block party! Two different kinds of shows, Idiot! Guess he couldn't let one day pass without showing his lack of grey matter. The block party!

At one point, the bigger kids decided to see if they could tip the jolly jumper. Almost, but no cigar. My son's MIL just about messed her pants! The block party! Ya can't do it, Elise! It's tied to the ground! LOL

I did some face painting and was in heaven painting Max's face (Lucas' little brother. OMG, what a beautiful child!!!!! Has Aspergers so it was quite an accomplishement on his part to want me to do it and to sit still for it.) The block party!

I painted my DIL's face, too, the female character from Nightmare before Christmas. You'll see in the pics. The block party!

The tri-tip was sumptuous and so were all the side dishes.

David must have replaced the beer with Near Bear in Jerry's six pack because Jerry drank the whole thing and didn't even get a light buzz! The block party! Neener, neener, neeeeeeeeeeeeener!!! The block party!

There was a band entertaining that was great! Sang a bunch of Beatles and Elvis along with some Chicago and other good bands.

The highlight of the day/evening was a "band" named GoNuts. The block party! They don't play worth a darn and can't sing a note, but they sure put out the food through a leaf blower turned food cannon! The block party! Their last song is called Food Fight, but there's a food fight going on from beginning to end of their 45 minute session. Yours truly morphed into a kid and was the first to through some flattened Twinkies and Susie-Q's back at the band but accidentally hitting my grandson and a couple of his friends standing right... no... making themselves targets for all the food flying around! LOL Somewhere close to the beginning I got it in the face with strawberry jelly or syrup, not sure which. It was YUMMMMY! However, the mustard on the left side of my face was quite a shock after the sweetness on the right side of my face. The block party! The block party! Someone must have thrown a stale marshmallow 'cause that HURT! But hey! I could have gotten out of the way, right? LOL For a while, I was hording the demolished Twinkies, Suzie-Qs and cream filled cookies until my grandson came over to smear something on me and saw my stash. DAMN! Nothing doing but that we helped ourselves and slung it all back at the fake gorillas dancing in front of the stage. The block party!

My wonderful DIL (the good one!!) came by and asked me if I could handle it. Could I handle it? Why was I sitting center front, then? LMBO! I told her "of course," she hugged me and said "I knew you had a wild streak in you!" Best compliment she could have paid me! The block party! She was right in the middle of things herself!

There was a pie eating contest and of course, the BD boy got picked as a volunteer. No gentleman, he! He dove in face first into his pie! The block party! To make things even, the band called a halt before they had taken maybe 4 bites and awarded all three volunteers a CD of one of their sessions. My grandson had a beautiful red circle that went from his neck to his eyebrows; the berry filing in his pie, that he felt compelled to share with me... by rubbing his face on mine, not to mention the pop corn and powdered sugar that had come flying out of the food cannon. The block party! Justice was served, though! His mother came over and proceeded to lick the berry filling off his face! The block party! The block party! He didn't like that very much! The block party!

His dad just told me that he took Lucas in their back yard and hosed him off before he'd let him in the house! The block party! The block party! The block party! The block party!

I'm posing my pics in the gallery and will post more as soon as the copies start arriving. The block party!

Keyword for the pics is Candy Corn Lane.
