am not really sure but I think it's a very positive concept rather than : you only live once and your actions determine if you go to hell/heaven for eternity.
In reincarnation your current moral actions determine your position in next life you can be reborn as rich, beautiful or poor etc...

I think something like it is possible, but only if the Universe collapses and is reborn.

I believe all things are possible ...

I'd like to come back as one of the BIG cats ... A panther, puma or tiger for instance.

Grrr!

No I do not. While I respect Buddhism, reincarnation sounds a bit like voodoo to me.

No flack from this corner ... I've had similar experiences myself, and have often wondered about reincarnation from a past life being the reason why.

Another thing I do that kinda me out a little bit is to dream of things that eventually come to pass somewhere off in the distant future.

A little unsettling, yet strangely an awe inspiring aha moment at the same time.

Energy is neither create nor destroyed, but changes form through time (chemistry class 101)

That being said the earth naturally has a cycle to it, but I'm not sure about the whole soul thing.

I do not believe in reincarnation personally. That being said, it doesn't mean I'm right.

Like said above, energy cannot be destroyed, it changes. When we die our energy (atoms, etc) move "on". I think that is how far my brain allows me to believe in a form of reincarnation.

I agree. We die and get buried, eventually our atoms mingle with the soil. The worms filter the soil and take up some of those atoms, a bird eats the worm, a cat the bird and maybe even the cat gets eaten??

If we get cremated, the vapour from the stack settles on the grass and animals eat the grass, so in a way we are reincarnated. I don't really believe we'll ever know about it, but hey! I've been wrong before

I don't think you quite grasped the concept given your choice of words
I don't believe in anything that there is no evidence for but I prefer reincarnation to the Christian idea of an afterlife.

why would you get flacks for this? I tried to remember but wasn't successful I guess I "outgrew" those memories if they were true

This isn't the place for the discussion, but reincarnation is different depending on the belief system. For example, the Buddhist teachings on rebirth are radically different from the Hindu teachings on reincarnation. While on the surface they seem similar (you die and come back), the particulars are really different.

And as you mentioned Hoyam, there are interesting accounts. One was of a child in England who spoke Tibetan before she spoke English. Her English parents and everyone around thought is was just gibberish before she learned to talk until their Guru (who was Tibetan) came over and translated. It was quite a shock I guess.

These cases though are inferred proof, definitely not direct. Interesting nonetheless.

I guess I expected flack because I've gotten flack in the outside world for making such statements.

Others have said there's no proof or evidence of reincarnation. I'm a scientist at heart and by training, but am also aware that we don't know everything. I'm willing to be open to the idea that we haven't learned how to find the evidence of some things yet.

Sorry, I was feeling cranky last night What I was getting at is that coming back is to improve the spirit/soul not looks or financial standing. Like the best of beliefs reincarnation is about the spiritual aspect of life, not the material aspect.

I'm not sure. Not really. I believe my energy moves on. I'm not so sure it comes back. But I will say - FEAR of reincarnation prevented me from committing suicide on any number of miserable nights!

I'm not sure what to believe. And that scares me. The not knowing part.
However, I still think that reincarnation is an interesting concept.

I know it's more than financial situation and material stuff and am drawn to it's spiritual aspect and it gives me hope.
but I've read in several websites how it's directly connected to karma, your status in your next life depends on what kind of person you were in this life (you could be reborn beautiful, ya rich if you were poor: a better life)
am new to this and very interested in knowing all about it so my information is limited so far.

I do believe in it. I have memories and such that I know did not happen in this life. When I was very little I told my mom about a something that had happened to me, I remembered it in vivid detail, and she said that it most definitely hadn't happened in this life. My grandpa, while in WWII France, innately knew his way around an old town he was in, and specifically the location of a certain bakery, and he had never been to France before. He knew he had lived there and worked at that bakery before his current life. While in a half-sleep state, half-conscious and half-asleep, I saw a Roman emperor walk up to me and tell me that I had been his praetorian, and the weird thing is, I had never even heard of that term before then. I had to look it up, and it was a Roman guard that protected the emperor. Even stranger still is the attraction I have always had to ancient Rome, and I never could tell you why before that day. I also have a very strong attraction to the 1920s, and I wonder if I might have been alive then, and maybe the memory I had as a child was one of that life. In the memory, I had been riding a turn-of-the-century children's tricycle, and was dressed in a girl's dress from the early 1900s, and I remember riding down a dirt road in a rural setting, with houses lining the street, and there was a shrubbery in front of me, and a man standing behind it, pruning it. There was also another little girl riding a tricycle beside me.

Thanks for sharing! such interesting facts! I think people like you give the evidence that reincarnation is real.
